Love some krautrock. Are you implying that krautrock songs generally have no progression or sense of direction, or that Nothing Is has a motorik drum pattern? Krautrock songs may be based on improvisation, but they still grow and evolve in some way, for better or worse.

Well, I'm just referring to bands like Neu! who, at least on their first album, wrote some pretty repetitive stuff. I got the same feel from Nothing Is, even though it doesn't necessarily contain many krautrock style elements.. except that riff I guess.

For sure, that stuff is repetitive, though they're not hammering away at the exact same thing for the entirety of the song.

Even the groove, as repetitive as it is, still has more variation. What they're doing with the guitar changes sporadically as well.

Touched, in its 57 seconds, goes more places, even though all they're doing is adding and subtracting elements. I don't know, Nothing Is just sounds lazy.

You can't accuse them of not caring and then classify their sound as just adequate if it were released 22 years ago... I know everyone has their opinion, but at least be fucking consistent.

I am not arguing your view on the new album is wrong, I'm saying your attack against the 'mediocre filler' more specifically "maybe 22 years ago it would have passed but now.... nah" is factually wrong as this album has been received by critics/fans as of consistent quality compared with Loveless. You can have any opinion about their music, but by framing your argument against the new album as them 'not caring' and their sound only 'passing 22 years ago' is dishonest and inconsistent within the larger context. If you are speaking about this music as 'passing' just for you 22 years ago, then fine, but I would still have a problem with your language and how you presented this. An example "Never was into their music very much, so most of the 'loveless' sounding stuff on this is pretty mediocre. The last three tracks are still not that great but are better."

This I would have no issue with.

But your method is a tad unfortunate. To be more specific, causing abjection with hyperbole and sweeping generalizations and then crying foul. A little more clarity and you might have provided a meaningful opinion. But as it stands, no one can relate to where you are coming from. Without historical/personal context and more detailed analysis on what about the music you like and don't like you, it is a waste of time for anyone to investigate. You may as well have saved yourself the 20 seconds it took to toss it into the swamp that is WATMM. But then again I should have saved myself the few minutes it took to respond to your fucking inconsistent bullshit.

I'm saying music can be timeless, so when it was actually made, even if it is something that is aesthetically decades old can still be regarded as very good. And I've already gone over the fact that it isn't your opinion that bothers me, it is the framing of your opinion. As much as I hate to call someone this, you are a troll. loveless is 50 years old, it's been listened to to death. this one is new, different and naturally more interesting. so for now it is easily better than loveless. to me "if i am", "only tomorrow" and "wonder 2" are better than anything on loveless atm.
