This is actually very appropriate mash-up for reasons probably not known to many... Did you know call me maybe was produced by Dave "Rave" Ogilvie, who mixed for NIN, Skinny Puppy, Einsturzende Nebauten, and The Birthday Massacre back in the day?

More about it here...

LOL, man there's just absolutely nothing to this. It's like if at random I just laid the lyrics to "Enter Sandman" over a Black Eyed Peas song w/ no effort at all. Like there you go. The next meme sensation, I just created it right there. No effort on my part.

The masher didn't even bring in any music element from Head Like a Hole or lyric elements from Call Me Maybe. Phoned in - all I'm sayin'.

zole!

"Oops I Did it Again" lyrics mash up great to "Enter Sandman" btw.

Also, someone prove that Ogilvie produced "Call Me Maybe."

Also, I posted this to my FB and got five re-posts so there!

Yeah, I can see wanting a little Carly Rae in there for completeness' sake. But the harmonies of the one are so good with the melody of TR's vocals, it's almost better planned-sounding than the HLAH backing track.

Also Encey I don't think Ogilvie produced it, just mixed it. If someone made up that entire SOS article for fun, well, maybe?

I LOVE this mashup... I actually quite like the original Call Me Maybe although the lyrics are pretty cringey...

But I love the mix of super happy pretty pop production with screamy emo angsty vocals, I think it's better than both of the originals...

Yes they did -- listen for the screechy sounds behind "No, you can't take it" and the 'ooohhh' pads behind "Bow down before the one you serve."

Most uncreative nine inch nails mash I've ever heard........Fuck this Call Me Maybe sad attempt.

Yikes, I've touched a nerve.

For the record I made the mashup for a request. It took all of 20 minutes to make, including sourcing the parts, rendering, converting and uploading.

You're right in saying there's little work done, it required no more than chopping out a few bars of the pre-pre-chorus, and therein lies the beauty. A simple, pure A+B bootleg whose elements only needed a gentle coaxing together. Personally I think it's a solid enough mashup, not my best and I'm not sure it warrants all the hype when there's so much beter stuff out there. Also keep in mind that I've been vehemently slating the over-abundance of CRJ mashups, I made it thinking it'll get 20 plays and forgotten about but now my one big hit is a CRJ track. Karma's a bitch. I'm grateful for the attention tho and it's a win for the mashup scene.

Lighten up :P

I think the fact that it was effortless is what makes it great. It's the fact of someone realising that the vocals of a completely different song of a completely different genre from a different era aimed at different people, would not only fit together PERFECTLY in terms of rhythm, but ALSO melody.

Most mashups I hear get one of those wrong. It's not the effort that's cool, it's the fact that someone figured that out. You couldn't just put ANY NiN song together with ANY bubblegum pop song and expect it to fit together this well, if you think it's that easy you really have no concept whatsoever about how difficult it is to make music.

Apparently not, he tweeted that he's not even slightly pissed and offered for me to remix some tweaker. He's not sent the stems yet so maybe he's changed his mind :D

Heh, I can only take credit for the effort. But yeah the best mashups forme are the genre smash's that shouldn't go together but do.

One of the finest examples(the video's the icing on the cake)...

Nice work, love your mashup -- so cool to be able to congratulate you in person!

I think the best part about it is that, because HLAH has such a dark sound and a pentatonic mode, you don't notice that the verses are actually 'major' in key, and the music of CMM brings that out to hilarious results.

Also, don't knock Céline -- voice of a fucking angel!!!
