i got one of those kneeling chairs for my birthday and it's super ergo-comfy :)

To both of these: wtf is that?

Comfy. If you're also into eco friendly commuting and recycling, you can turn this baby into a Skiscooter by using amongst other things: a council bin and a couple of ski poles. Once you have the basic model down, additional features such as a detachable cart and various dynamo powered gadgets can be added for convenience and comfort. The possibilities are endless.
I'm more interested in the hovering arm rest.

Indeed, that's a fine hovering armrest

I finally reclaimed my 1st place spot in facebook Scrabble (for my friends list).  My brother ousted me a few months back and then stopped playing.  it's very hard to get your rating up when there's no higher ranks to challenge, so after he stopped playing I'd only ever move up a point or two if I won, and dropped 20+ if I lost.  Life is hard.

Ordered sofa at midnight, Tuesday. Arrived Thursday morning. Considering the complaints some people on the site had about "weeks of delays," I did pretty well.

i adopted this dog today. he's 7lbs of fur and has yet to bark (or poop).  his middle name is Zodiac. i think it's the expression of tiny murder.

I read that domestic cat predation accounts for an estimated 200 MILLION bird deaths in Canada alone, annually.

I still own 2 cats tho. Indoor cats.

i see them lurking in the trees like sex offenders, waiting to pounce, then they take that first step & its jingle-jangle, which was the catch-phrase of Jimmy Savile no less

I found a UAE 1 dirham coin in my roll of quarters. Usually when non-US currency winds up in these rolls it's Canadian, but this is a first.

Guess it's time to renew my passport and book a flight to Dubai.

Also just figured out how to adjust my office chair to my computer desk at home, and it seems I'm finally in the correct posture after nearly two years. Wonder if it'll help my circulation somehow.

Sent a query email to a literary agent, and that agent has not responded for three days now. At first, I was bummed...but a day after the email, I suddenly had second thoughts about the way my book was written, and have altered it so I like it more. And changed the title. Complete changes, actually!

So if this agent had responded immediately, I might have sent work I suddenly wished to change, and would have been unable to do so. A first world problem that sort of became a good thing?

Proper first world problem: Agent has still not responded. Do I email again and risk sounding like a pest? Do I skip her and email someone else at the same agency, risking sounding like someone just shotgunning submissions to everyone? Do I just send my manuscript anyway and find out months later this agent has quit or has been on holiday for months? I know we're busy, but surely a quick email saying "yes" or "no" is not too hard to do...

Edited by Bechuga

From all I've heard it can take quite some time to hear back from publishers/agents (months perhaps in the case of publishers, weeks for agents) so I'd say maybe you should just cool it..three days is nothing. I have zero first-hand experience, though.... Maybe just be on the look out for where else you can inquire with in the mean time! Or start working on something else! :D

By query email I mean simply an email asking if they are willing to receive submissions. I am aware of the waiting process once a submission has been made, but usually agents respond within a day or two for simple queries, especially if said agent states on their agency profile they are more than happy to answer initial queries.

I'll just use the time to make sure the manuscript is perfect. I'll send another email if a week goes by.

Oh, again, my lack of actual experience. I recognized that you said it was a query letter but I assumed even that would be subject to the 'it may be some time before I even respond with an acknowledgement of receipt or a response' expectations of agents in general. Still, could just be a busy week or she may've had personal issues to attend to, who knows! Yeah, a week is decent time to wait and re-inquire I'd guess. Good luck!

Yeah, I'm no expert at all but past experience is that initial queries are answered quickly and briefly. One agent responded with "Yes, go ahead! :)" before so I'm going by past expectations.

And one agent I am sending to asks that you do not bother with query emails at all, so you have to be careful. Double-check, triple-check and panic anyway!

Writing a book? Easy. Sending submission packets? The worst.

edit: For example, I just sent a query email to another agent. She has already responded:

"Yes, I am accepting submissions.
Best wishes,
[Name]"

That's how quick and brief I was expecting! XD

Successfully finished a 9-hour basic tracks recording session for a 3-piece rock band as the unsupervised head engineer today. Exhausted, but in a good way. On to overdubs and mixdown...
