Basically, with Redmoon, a few BoC .gif files led to, among other things: someone making an entire fake album and hoax website; spinning some elaborate tall tale about how they found melted BoC cassettes on Redpoint Beach; some guy pretending to speak for the band with coded band-related images in his avatar; a bunch of nutters from Twoism going into the Scottish highlands to find BoC but ending up just hanging out with each other...those are just some of the crazy highlights I remember off the top of my head. .

Things were going nuts yesterday evening, sheer madness. I was round my mums house last night explaining it all to her and explaining who BoC were, in the end she was looking at me with concern, I had to reassure her I wasn't a member of a cult lol.

Yeah i poured my Friday into the hunt. And not only did nothing happen, but there were like 3 or 4 false alarms indicating that something cool was about to happen.

that sounds a lot like something that would be on one of those true crime murder story with dramatizations and interviews shows. that's quite irresponsible and kind of sickening that they would let it go that far

this could make sense. much more aesthetic than mathematical.

i'm not seeing what they get the '1977 is a cipher' thing from/what it's for, all the numbers in the triangle are just from the / x x x x x x / clues.

if the missing numbers are 259259, all 36 numbers add up to 180. just saying.

New Clear Dawn 1977 is the name of a video on Youtube (we all remember NCD - but the video itself is unimportant, only the name matters):

Observations about the formation of the triangle http://i.imgur.com/HetZmgH.jpg

- the top of the pyramid's first 3 lines adds up to 23. It's kind of its own pyramid/triangle.

- Add the 7s together (42) and subtract the 6 in the middle. That's 36.

- the sum of all values is 170

-take the sum of the values of the outside lines of the first "inner triangle" (the one with the 7s) - they add up to 70 if you count the 1 up top twice, or 69 if you don't. Both important numbers here.

Each six digit code is also a triangle number. We can organize each of these six triangles into a bigger triangle. Then we get three inverted/negative triangles that tie nicely into the New Clear Dawn / Chernobyl theme:
