Not to mention Sesame Street (the Color of the Fire [also note the spelling of "color"], Whitewater [again, samples from Sesame Street]), and others I'm probably forgetting off the top of my head...

(I think) This album will be very special - easily in the same league as MHTRTC in terms of greatness and impact.

I sincerely hope you prove to be correct!

I'm really excited for this. JR, I think you're right, I feel it too.

That broadcasted track in Shibuya was haunting, epic, dreamy, chill, weird and hypnotic.. just the way i like my boc.

It seems to me that the rest of the album will follow suit, esp. if it's track 2, like someone mentioned based off of track time. I would think that if they threw this as the second track on the album, that it's likely to represent the sound of the album.. with boc, who knows, but I guess we'll see. either way, i'm loving the sound of this, and whether tomorrow's harvest is beat-driven or mostly ambient, or somewhere in between, i'm all for it. i can't even imagine a mostly ambient boc release...mmmm... like, imagine their version saw II. :derp:

oh and if it sounds like mhtrtc and/or has the same epic-ness/impact...

Geogaddi was their response to 9/11, iirc from an interview

Geogaddi came out in Feb. 2002 - that would have been crazy quick

Yeah, I really doubt it was a response to 9/11. They are known to work on single sounds for months, let alone whole albums.

the biggest illusion is yourself

I think I remember reading they either spent the following months on making what they had already composed a bit "darker", or they just said those were dark times for them personally, only mentioning 9/11 in the same sentence...

And to anyone who preordered the album, check your order status on bleep

It wasn't quite a response, as they were working on the album when 9/11 happened. But it looks like it did influence it. From this interview from Above Board: http://bocpages.org/wiki/Above_Board

There's a genuine positivity on this album. Where do you think that comes from? Has the birth of Mike's child given you both a different view of the world maybe?

"Mike: "I guess this record is more positive than the last, at least on the surface. 'Geogaddi' was kind of exorcising demons, and even after we'd set out to do a record like that, smack in the middle of working on it, 9/11 happened. I remember there were a few of us in the studio that day, and we just ended up glued to the TV for the whole day. I think the months after that pushed us into making a darker record, as I'm sure it did with a lot of bands. A lot's happened since then, I have an amazing little daughter now who makes me laugh every day and gives me a greater sense of purpose on this planet than I ever had. But in a way, the world has actually become even darker over the past four years. There's some crazy underground shenanigans going on now. But instead of reflecting it in a dark record, we decided to make an escapist soundtrack. Like a kind of sanctuary; a day-glo vista you can visit by putting the record on."

Mad 1991 vibes from this, I dig.

What's the bleep situation?

Ohh I see it now. Right, well that's something.

lol only a twoism member could've come up with this.

"The USA release date is 11 June 2013. If one takes into account the title of the album, the "Harvest" in the USA would be 12 June 2013. Written numerically, June 12th would be 6/12 or 6/6+6."

it's hard to tell if the JJ abrahms approach to marketing will ultimately hurt or help something with such high expectations like this. I couldn't help but find it sort of funny that the promo video is some sort of hand held camera shot of the broadcast being played on a PA system, like seriously? Is BOC trying the Chris Nolan approach? It seems counter intuitive to me

Really digging the synth on that new piece. It's just the kind of vibe I was hoping for.

I bet Rob & Sean are already enjoying the new album by now.

Have you seen the Tokyo video? It's one of the most beautiful music-related videos I've ever seen.

I don't actually have a clue what is meant by that ...

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

if you're talking about a cellphone video recording of it and not an actual video rip, then yes. That's what i meant by what i said, that while it seems cool i don't understand why they wouldn't just release the video on the web instead of this viral marketing weirdness.

The internet is evil. Wake up.

Really though, I'm super excited and that track was really promising.

er, probably because BOC fans have proven over and over again they love viral and riddle based shit, so boc instead of doing a simple interview and promo video, are satisfying what they believe to be their fans wishes.

that seems fairly obvious from where im sitting, i mean, boc fans. nuff said.
