Video is as lush as the tune. Wouldn't mind if whole video was just flying through the clouds towards the sun though. Love that bit. The synths at the end are to die for.....

So fucking good.

The ending shots of the sun kind of looks like nuclear explosion from above, am I the only one seeing that?

Oh, I thought they had made the video themselves. :-( Well, actually, it makes me even more impressed with how marinated in the music the video seems. Great, great work, Video Maker!

The track is still just 'nice' to me. Great evocative typical BoC synths, other elements are ok but a bit surprising in their simplicity/datedness (the drums.) It sounds like Boards of Canada, for sure! It sounds like it could have come straight off Geogaddi, but it is simpler and less 'destroyed' sounding than most of that album. I miss that super saturated sound; they (more or less) abandoned it on TCH, and it wasn't so present on MHTRTC, but I re-listened to their not-difficult second album again recently a by golly is it good! Wow. I love that rich, old- tape - but super 3D sound....

I would, but I'd just be digging myself into a hole of grumpiness.

Will wait for the album before I vent my spleen...

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

that black triangle around the sun is so intriguing. There have to be more videos. That can't be the end of the story.

It's a nice track, with some really nice subtle details, but it doesn't do anything for me....yet. Seems to be lacking any residual BoC magic, could have been done by anyone.

Will see how it grows, and still looking forward to the album.

When I first heard "Get Lucky" by Daft Punk I was underwhelmed, but I couldn't get it out of my head. It still doesn't do anything for me emotionally but even now I find myself humming it. "Reach For The Dead" is the complete opposite: I got chills watching the video. I can't stop thinking about both the visuals and music - there aren't any hooks or very clear earworm parts, it's totally an experience for me watching and listening to that music video. I must admit, without the video I would not be gushing over the song as much, but I would still be excited and have it on repeat.

I never really thought of Boards of Canada as a group that makes earworms, though they are capable of that (the synth line "roygbiv" for example), and their music doesn't just grow on you, it beckons you back over and over again. I get that vibe from this song.

The three suns made me think of the holy trinity, and then that made me think of the Trinity site in New Mexico...

The test site is just north of White Sands, where Project Excelsior was launched:

that song (iabpoitc) is just magic, watching that video after not having heard the tune for some time now made me realize it's my favorite boc song.

I'm impressed with its slighly dark feel.

It creates all the typical melancholic BoC-atmospheres.

Hopefully the rest of the Album sounds like this also.

After Campfire failed my ears so badly, i think they manage to go back to their former roots and this is important because the flute will always trump the guitar forever.

First I'm all, oh, some woozy drone stuff and a beat, so cool. Then that arpeggio and I come stupid hard.

Dude. Simply awesome.

usually i feel like i can spot when video makers are doing effects to make video look grainy or washed out. this looks very convincing like it was scanned from crappy 16mm stock. Are there pretty easy ways to 'fake' old film like this these days? I have no clue
