hi everyone, I think this can be really helpful and interesting to discover new music.

You can either say your 5 most influential artist of all time, or your favorite artist of the moment or of all time, whatever.

My top 5 goes like this.

1-Kettel

2-Miles Davis

3-Gil Scott Heron

4-John Coltrane

5- Tie position here: Aphex Twin and Dinosaur JR.

Whats yours!

The Beach Boys

John Phillips (he only did one good album but whatever)

The Doors

Aphex Twin

Black Dog (original line-up)

I've never gotten The Doors, some good tunes sure, but I struggle to sit through an album.

Aphex Twin

R.E.M.

Beatles

Radiohead I guess*

Tied between like a dozen artists**

John Williams

*Hard to pick but I could easily put Burial, Menomena, Chemical Brothers, Massive Attack, Boris, The Doors, Boards of Canada, Butthole Surfers, Fly Lo, Bjork and a ton of other artists who I love but Radiohead just manages to top all of them.

**Many of my favorite albums are by artists who had mediocre later careers or who morphed into something I could never get into even if I was a huge fan: Weezer, U2, Smashing Pumpkins are a few examples.

I'm glad, man. You might learn to appreciate Goo the more you delve into their discography.

I guess I could say in no particular order Autechre, The Orb, Biosphere, Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada. Those have been my favorites the longest. Other stuff comes and goes but I've been coming back to those five again and again. I'd maybe add FSOL also.
