Aphex Twin

Autechre

Boards of Canada

Radiohead I guess*

Tied between like a dozen artists**

Beatles

Swans

*Hard to pick but I could easily put Seefeel, Burial, Menomena, Chemical Brothers, Massive Attack, Boris, The Doors, Butthole Surfers, Fly Lo, Bjork and a ton of other artists who I love but Radiohead just manages to top all of them.

**Many of my favorite albums are by artists who had mediocre later careers or who morphed into something I could never get into even if I was a huge fan: Weezer, U2, Smashing Pumpkins are a few examples.

We have similar tastes, brah.

Actually, I think I can only really name my top 3.

Oneohtrix Point Never, Death Grips, and Animal Collective

And not really even Animal Collective because I haven't listened to them enough, but everything I've heard from them strikes me as being above and beyond what other artists put out. There are other artists I like a ton (arguably even more than AC), but these three sound more significant to me in a way; they're different, not just good.

Sweet.

I need to give Swans a good listen then.

At the moment, judging by what I've been listening to for the last couple years, John Fahey has definitely made my top 5.
