The voices so far throughout the album weirdly remind me of those on Trademark Ribbons of Gold, is anyone else getting that?

Yeah im pretty dumb . I mean the instruments are very obviously analog and there is an distinct amount of sequencing and all the recognizable BoC technique. It has a certain clarity to it though. On past stuff the audio always feels kind like "worn" tape almost. It's the aesthetic.

 

I don't get that sense here, at least in comparison to their past stuff. It feels clearer than warm tape.

 

Analog can be bright and pristine.

I'm glad I done this, I had planned to wait until the proper release but 20,000 BoC fans nerding out together is superb.

Love the detail, the structures seem to have become less, well, structured - feels much looser and fluid. Im guessing I could listen to this a thousand times and hear something new each time.

I keep hearings ghosts/echoes of their previous tracks here and there. Subtle nods to past work.

i think this is a real trip of an album. might not seem so right now when everyone is judging each track with their best ears, but put this on your headphones when you have time just for this album and i think we can agree that it's a worthy competitor

There's something to be said for being compelled to digest the entire album in one sitting.

How often do we forget to do that in our addled state of multimedia devices? I would have hit pause 40 times under ordinary circumstances.
