1/10. I got excited at the generic Messages icon but then lost all faith in Apple 2013 at Get Lucky.

Sorry that I came off as being cranky. The name is a bit weird. I wonder why they decided to call it Mavericks and not just Maverick? It's almost as weird as "Ground Zeroes"

Mavericks is a place name (it's a surfing location). I guess they're switching to California place names, which makes sense, but "Mavericks" is a fairly obscure one and doesn't really read as intended, as you see.

The default desktop background is supposed to suggest a huge mavericks wave, looks like:

wow i did get a massive graphic design sweatpants boner when then parallax modification thing turned up

there's pretty nifty graphics APIs in the iOS 7 SDK actually. Apps will have easy access to pretty cool graphics / physics effects. *bounces off*

I think the name Mavericks was just chosen in honor of Steve Jobs? I don't understand that Apple goes for this function-follows-form design with the Mac Pro, isn't that the Apple-user market that does want to mod (to certain extent) their computer now and then?

Anyways, I like that they are finally getting rid of all their glossy-effect icons and UI - 2006 WEB2.0™ has been over for quite a while now and it wasn't even good-looking then. I for one enjoy the graphic simplicity that Google, Microsoft,etc. is doing with UI-design more these days.

I love the look of the flat design. I wish they did away with the rounded corners too but I guess they don't want to get close to windows os.

The native podcast app was (and I assume, still is) miserable. I switched to Downcast as a result, and never looked back.

You can download the proper google maps app now, as well as a seperate YouTube app.

I do feel the ios6 update did sort of slow down and cripple my phone. I doubt the new update will cater and fix slow down issues with iPhone 4S:/

Google maps is decent, I mostly use it as a cheapo Sat Nav on the phone.
