The simple answer would be to stop posting in General Banter and just concentrate on the areas of the site that you do like. GB is certainly one of the most active areas on the site, but it's not like EKT and Music Discussion (the latter for sure) never get posted in.

If you don't like the site, I'm sure there are others out there that would cater for your requirements.

Okay, so on reflection there a big thing that bothers me with the original post. It's the idea that the relative shortage of posts in EKT points to an absence of music making.

But this isn't true. We make quite a bit of music here. I've managed to help put together a decent number of compilation albums with hardly any effort. I just suggest the idea, and tracks come flooding into my inbox. And those are just the ones I was involved with. There was the Squarepusher comp, the of course the fine work of CHATMM (I friggen love those albums).

If we made more music it might be hard to keep up with. Not to say we shouldn't try, but I think we can be proud of how much music we make, and we don't need to develop stupid complexes about wanting to converse in genban.
