anyone else upgraded yet? the only thing that's really stuck out to me so far is that they got rid of that god-awful linen background texture on the notifications bar/login screen and the contacts app is way better looking. also the dock background is better. hopefully the stuff about improved battery life turns out to be true because that would be rad.

oh snizzap you can reply directly to iMessages from the notification that pops up.

I dunno.. linux just tends to work with most recent hardware. Unless you buy some rare components it usually goes well.

That said, OSX being *nix kin still makes it cool..

GUI's are lame and inefficient. Text based computing is where it's at. Matter of fact, I'm going to start up my Lynx command line text internet browser because that's how cool I am

also, in the interest of fairness, my last experience with linux was installing debian on an ancient powerbook g4. and i DID get wifi working. there's just not enough decent PPC nvidia support for me to stick with it.

linux is nowhere near useful for me until it gets decent design software.

Also, fuck not having a gui. I don't give a fuck; this is the future, computers should be easy to use. I spent enough time with DOS in the early 90s; I don't want to go back to text input for everything.

Using a keyboard is actually much easier than having to click shit and then move your hands back to the keyboard and vice versa.

Which reminds me, those little keyboard nipples they have on computers like the old ibm thinkpads etc are great.

I usually disable them (trackpads), but our user accounts on the laptops at my school don't have admin privilege. So I can't turn it off or that annoying "touch to click" feature which is always interrupting my text flow.

the mac ones are better than most though I'll give you that

I use keyboard shortcuts for most of my work. I only use a mouse when I absolutely need to, ie. design, navigation functions that would be ridiculously cumbersome on a keyboard, etc.
