the Linux kernel is at 3.11.6, so there is certainly precedent to have a versioning convention like that.

I doubt Apple will drop the OS X 'brand' - it's too ingrained into the users now. Even if they pronounce it wrong...

I vaguely remember that when OS X first came out, apple stated that OS X was intended to be their operating system for the next 20 years (or was it 30?). Seemed like a really long time back then, but we're well over a decade in. Christ, that makes me feel old.

Also google chrome is at version 30.0.1004.9494656.3.362838 or something like that now.

Uh... it actually has more skeuomorphism, doesn't it? Like when you download something and a little icon flies to the downloads folder, or when you open a page on a new window and the window pops up growing to its intended size.

when was the last time that you opened a window on your house, and the window itself actually popped and grew?

That's something Safari has been doing for awhile now - at least since Lion, AFAICR.

battery drain info for apps. android has had this for a while, nice to see it show up in osx.

That's actually a really fucking awesome addition. Would love that to have been added in Windows 8.1, oh well...

Apparently Windows has had this feature for a long time, and it's much more detailed. At least than what this OS X screenshot shows. Cool to know it's on my new laptop!

Blimey, just tried it - that's pretty cool. Why the hell is it buried in the command line ...

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

I dunno, but I look at it kinda like a power 'API', if you could even call it that.

Seems like a statistician's dream.
