Yeah. I did it lastnight. Haven't noticed anything amazing yet, except for apps loading faster, but that might be psychosomatic. I wonder if it's fixed my wifi problems (wifi dropping out but still looking like it's connected; mostly after I've connected to my network storage)..

Seems fine so far to me. I think it might have solved my wifi problem. I've been using it for an hour without a dropout. Here's hoping..

Yeah, the new color profile is oversaturated. Just switch back to your old profile after you upgrade (or recalibrate).

I want to barf into the face of the person who designed the sparkly-sparkle-new-app effect though.

I wouldn't doubt it. every single thing apple has done in the last bunch of years makes it further and further going from screen to print.

Yeah, so much for less skeuomorphism...

I've installed it, and haven't played with it too much - really really annoying it apparently uninstalls Java and Flash. At least you can show the Libraries now with a checkbox rather than having to run Terminal commands to restore it. Microsoft must be watching Apple, because in Windows 8.1 they've hidden their libraries link now.

And I HATE the name - Mavericks - this is an OS, not fucking Top Gun (yes, I know it's named after dangerous waves, etc.)

Anyways, hopefully this is the last of OS X and the next one will be OS 11 (which will adopt the iOS look and feel)

I read somewhere (probably the Ars Technica review) that they're planning another 10 years of OS X, hence the name change from big cats to California locations. That may have been a tongue-in-cheek remark, speculation from vague Apple roadmaps, or the real true plan. I guess if it ain't broke, don't fix it...

Nah, I think they just finally ran out of cat names - I mean, what would be next - OS X Civet Cat?
