Good point, I can definitely agree with that argument as well. Joyrex did say it was mostly because of the fact that there are already rips of those albums though.

That's another reason too - this was fun an unique, and doing it again (no matter how much "sense" it makes to fans) would kinda run the uniqueness.

 

Coincidentally, that's what Sean (of AE) told me when I proposed a similar idea for a Quaristice soundboard Kickstarter (and the fact that no soundboards exist, unfortunately)...

I wouldn't say that - I think the reasoning of "high quality rips already exist" is more of a "why would anyone pay for something they could easily get and in decent quality, unlike CAT 023 which hadn't seen the light of day" than saying "go pirate our music, we're cool with it".

We will pay for this and they are denying us the opportunity. Just very sad in my opinion.

I agree something could still happen but this is torture and not really fair to the buyers if these are going to become available anyway.

So part of the original CAT 023 Kickstarter agreement was that Joyrex would also sell MFM and AB5 for Grant and RIchard from his ebay account, collect the money for them and would not run another Kickstarter ? This all still makes no sense to me. What a "surprise" this ending turned out to be !

Forgot the best part, that it would be mostly okay if we bought ourselves and then ripped and distributed it to all ! So basically we need to fund a Kickstarter ourselves to buy on ebay, because we are not allowed to have another Kickstarter !!!!?????!!!!!!

It doesn't even bother me, I find it entertaining. Especially how melodies from mars now has track names as soon as the CWLP had track names listed, Grant's kickstarter post/joke on xlt, etc.
