the bass on produk 29 is so heavy i can hear/feel something inside my headphones rattling... this worries me

does anyone else think there's some BOC influence? it crossed my mind when listening first time., i dunno

I don't think headphones were used a lot when mastering this. Sounds 10 times better on me stereow.

That fucking bass at the end of earth portal mix....like a goddamned comet smashing into the earth.

some of it reminds me of venetian snares/last step.

Richard's best, most evocative and intricate album. Middle of the album has the best sound design of any album I've ever heard. Love how simple, low, and centered the percussion is on most tracks, really lets the unreal synth work wrap around it.

that's actually the original purpose of a real mastering job, not for being played on headphones

I keep switching stereo to headphones and back again. Love it on both.

I think the birds in Aisatsana are a really clever way to serve the same effect as the creaking from the swinging piano at the Barbican. It seems really deliberate.

song 3 starts out like a straight up Alan Hawkshaw song, i think it's my favorite from the album so far. Song 1+2+3 are very strong in combination. It's going to take me some time to digest the rest of it
