heh yeah, I just switched on the radio and there was a tune playing and I knew straight away who the culprit was

I feel exactly the same, but I need to give it a proper listen again until I can say for sure.

Listening to all the live tracks for years prior to this also didn't help

The only track that didn't sound 'fresh' to me was XMAS_EVET10 (Thanaton3 Mix) because I listened to the Metz recording sooooo many times. So to me the me the rest of the album feels brand new. So far it's sound very retro, but without feeling dated at all. In fact it's still allot more 'contemporary' than most music out there atm, which is an impressive achievement if you ask me.

Before the big listen, I'd just like to extend a wanky thankyou to everyone on this forum who's contributed to the Syro launch experience. Cheers for making me feel welcome. Looking forward to staying active on here and hopefully it won't be long until we have more Aphex releases to get excited about.

First listen done and dusted. Expectations not only met but surpassed, I'm delighted with the end result. Timeless, playful music which feels like a breath of fresh air compared to the fetid stench of EDM hanging heavy in the room. Syro will be my soundtrack to Autumn/Winter 2014 (and beyond).

Anyone else recognize the sound at 5:47 in CIRCLONT6A? It sounds so familiar, like the hyperspace sound from Asteroids or something.

I find myself half way through some of these songs thinking "i don't even..." in a valley girl accent.

Something like "This is stretches of the time of troubles". And in previous track it's diminutive word for socks (Nosochki).
