I get that Chris Pratt is totally this generation's Harrison Ford. He's got the looks & charisma.

What I don't get is how any movie exec or filmgoer can look at this without laughing hysterically:

What completely baffles me is that it seems directors/EPs have completely forgot that you actually need *good* actors to carry movies no matter how good the cgi is. This seems completely obvious but it rarely seems to happen!! People harp on and on about the cgi in the first JP and how great it is- this is true but the film is carried by *gasp* actors!! Sam Neill, dern and Attenborough put in great performances and of course goldblum moves the film into classic territory. Just get some good actors, not the most recent box office draw, and use that as a resource! Especially with nostalgic franchises that exist in a realm of "artistic merit" slightly more than your bog standard action flick

if Chris Pratt puts on his guardians of the galaxy game face while palling around with raptors it could work, but thats probably not going to happen
