holy shit just saw this. one of the worst screenplays of recent memory. My god what a horribly written piece of shit movie. I thought joss whedon was just being silly when he said the movie was sexist, but it honestly made the only female lead in the movie look like a mentally retarded person who overdosed on estrogen

aren't there thousands of extinct mammals and other reptiles from prehistoric ages they could have created in a lab instead of a new genetically engineered dinosaur? The basic plot setup makes absolutely no fucking sense, it was as dumb as the alien / predator hybrid in AVp 2 perhaps even fucking dumber.

the dialog when they first showed the raptor training where the black guy was trying to teach the white man they couldn't control nature was so cringe worthy i had a hard time believing what i was watching. The only non white lead characters in the movie besides Pratt were the only ones who weren't megalomaniacal god complex idiots, hilariously generic.

Jurassic Park 3 blows this piece of shit movie out of the water, at least that movie was slightly tongue in cheek and not trying to take itself seriously like this horrid mess.

edit: i know i talked a lot of shit about Terminator Salvation when it came out and adamantly stood by the idea that although T3 was shit, it was still better than Salvation. Well the gap between Jurassic world and Jurassic Park 3 is way fucking bigger, this film is worse in context than Salvation ever had the potential to be.


edit2: I heard the director of the movie say it was influenced by Gremlins 2, well unfortunately it was influenced in the worst ways possible. Joe Dante at least understood corporate culture and how stupid it was but apparently the guy who made Safety Not Guaranteed has a 12 year old POV on corporate culture and military culture and it shows really badly during the entire film. If he was trying to parody society like Gremlins 2 he failed miserably. The fact that Steven Spielberg put his stamp of approval on this movie makes me really sad, the dude has totally lost it.
