I was genuinely expecting some kind of serious Northern Ireland style civil unrest once Trump got in (perhaps the joke there is that background US gun violence isn't far off Troubles levels anyway), but there hasn't been a peep - I'm astounded by how yellow bellied the US liberal set has been, they've just rolled over. It's almost like they've forgotten that they literally have a whole section of their magical constitution that gives them the right to rise up against governments that they don't like. You see memes floating around about "wonder what it was like living in nazi germany? Look around you!" etc etc, but it's not, because you guys are allowed to have guns and yet you still don't do anything. Because, due to the "news"/entertainment-for-profit ecosystem, we've been inundated with this sky-is-falling shit for 7 years straight now. I'm sure that's happening everywhere in the world to some degree, and I can't speak to anywhere but here, but it's been fucking exhausting being bombarded for 7 years with this shit, every day.

Well now the sky is actually falling and most of us are just fucking tired of hearing it. The election was built up so much as "do or die", and we lost, so now what?  There's no clear leader or leading resistance group.  Everyone is just doomscrolling on their phones in a coma and saying, "whatever, fuck it, I'm tired."
