yeah.. he's a total twat. florida is super car brained though. and total idiots about infrastructure since forever.. in the 70s and 80s people were asking for better public transportation and things like light rail etc and always someone would say "but it's so ugly".. like car traffic bottlenecked everywhere is attractive.  

some places are better than others though.. and have actual half way decent bike infrastructure and stuff. but it's all going to be underwater

was just in south florida for a week. fckn hell. concret hellscape airconditioned nightmare. managed to see an old friend.. had to drive like 40 minutes.. fckn 4-6 lanes in each direction.. nice spot for lunch but black tarmac parking lot was like a frying pan.  florida is the definition of sprawl. 

had a nice lyft driver from the airport though. he was from venzuela and was so happy to be in florida. young guy w/a wife and kid. we chatted through broken spanglish about life and stuff on the long ass ride to my mom's place at 1am. 

they're building even more giant overpasses around I-95/595/I-75. it's just fucking insane. total car brained bullshit. fucking hellscape for sure. so glad i got out of there when i was young. so glad to be back in relatively sane place like portland.
