yeah was gonna say...

extremism =/= islam

two different concepts.

but this is islamic extremism, not pacifist extremism. it doesn't make sense to pretend like those are completely separate spheres.

You live in Israel yet you don't feel any close to zionist extremism, do you?

It does make sense. Muslims have nothing to answer for about this.

not particular muslims but islam.

I have to agree. We need to stop pretending Islam is a religion of peace. The majority of muslims are peaceful and I don't blame them for anything that happened, but I'm getting tired of these politcally correct people saying Islamist extremism has nothing to do with the Qran or Islam. It has everything do with it. Islam, in the wrong hands, is a religion of terror and intolerance. But there's not much we can do about it. I don't believe it's known who the attackers were? If they are from a forreign country it's not like we can educate them, or even intervene, because with the war on terror we have seen what that leads to.

The attackers are (most likely) known, they are two Algerian immigrants, brothers who grew up in an orphanage in France. They just returned from Syria last year, which explains the training. Also, before the radicalization, one of the brothers spent his life delivering pizzas, smoking weed, drinking booze and more Islam forbids.

I'm already sighing at the sight of rightwinged populists like Geert Wilders calling the "what, islam = peace right?! Well, what about these idiots then?!" card. It's the same as blaming Slipknot and Marilyn Manson for school shootings. There are 1.6 billion muslims in the world, if the ideology wasn't a peaceful one then the world would've been a lot worse. Like you said, Islam in the wrong hands is a religion of terror, but you can replace 'Islam' in that sentence with anything that has a 1.6 billion people following and you have the same thing. Hateful remarks like the Wilders one above result in xenophobia and innocent people getting hurt, like when someone just threw a grenade towards a mosque in Paris this morning.

We have a prefrontal cortex, please use that instead of your limbic system.

Did anyone consider that hostage moron in Sydney recently a true muslim? Same with these guys imo, they are just very troubled people looking for an identity (based on their previous lifestyles and upbringing).

On a sidenote: one of the most annoying things I saw this morning was some US (probably Republican) politician use this incident to defend the right to have guns because 'then the cartoonists would at least had a chance'. Incredible.

I agree for the most part, Islam isn't worse than any other religion. Religion as a whole is an obsolete concept that gives irrational people something to justify their crimes. However, the reason most christians and most muslims are peaceful is because they don't take it seriously, because they ignore significant parts of the book they claim to believe in. Most people have a conscience of themselves and can tell right from wrong, without the "help" of a book. So what good does that book really do?

"Same with these guys imo, they are just very troubled people looking for an identity (based on their previous lifestyles and upbringing)."

If they would have done the same without the existence of a book like the Qran I can not say, but I rarely see gunmen walking into a french restaurant, shooting people, because they prefer the italian cuisine.

That's ridiculous. If anything, the events justify further gun control.

Sean Ae yeah so many of these analogue forums are people 90% bragging ang 10% uploading tracks that go fdghfgdhfddhgasfgdsfdsahfdfhdsgfgds

I hope that the 2 gunmen are shot dead by the police before the French people and all of us watching it have to endure a very costly and length trial.

Islamists and Muslims are two different things to me. Muslims love peace, and their god. They recognize Abraham, Moses and Jesus as prophets as well. These aren't Muslims, they are bastardizing that religion for their own purposes. Just like Westboro Church aren't Christians, they're Fundamentalist Extremists. But we can play semantics and terminology games all day.

And the gun man left his ID in the getaway car? That's some good planning!

tbh i don't even know wtf "islamists" even are, the important part is that all of those people consider themselves muslims. abraham was a fucking psycho who was ready to sacrifice his son for god and moses took part in crimes against humanity against the egyptians, so i don't see how following those two guys will make someone a peacelover and generally a good bloke.

one could just as easily say that westboro church is the true christianity and the rest are just fakes and pussies who are afraid to be the conducts of god's righteous wrath against homosexuals, abortionists and other scum. who are you to judge? the text allows those kinds of interpretations just as easily. the beginning of all of those religions are those holy texts, and they're fucked up in all kinds of different ways and blatantly contradict the cherished ideals of humanism and human rights countless of times.

sure, some schools of thought manage to emphasize some parts of it and mute the others build very different denominations out of those strains of thought and come up with neat and friendly versions of religions, but in the end those are really fucking dangerous texts especially combined with the sanctity that goes along with them.

they could, but they'd be ignoring the fact that there are only about two parts in the bible that sort of mention what could kind of happen if someone did something a little bit gay. it's not very clear on the whole thing. in the same way that stuff jihadists pull from the quran is equally full of shit and misunderstood.

"You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination."

"If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them."

seems pretty clear to me.

maybe in the future it would be best to not have a head office. publish via TOR like aphex

Yeah that's from the Old Testament, which afaik is the most violent religious text there is and actually not the one most christians identify to. Pretty popular in the USA though :/

those are the only parts of the bible that mention it and with the translation back and forth it really could be anything. the bible mentions not eating shrimp more than it does homosexuality but people have no problem with shrimp

it's the people, not the text. the people choose to misinterpret and harm others with their ignorance.

how could you misinterpret those two passages about homosexuality though?

the shrimp thing is for jews only btw, and the religious ones don't eat it.

If you wants more infos about Charlie Hebdo & their struggle with recent censorships / threat, try to watch the docu "Its hard to be loved by jerks"

apparently the first victim was a cleaner... a person making a shitty living off cleaning the crap after those editors. some profound "religiously motivated" violence, that is...

though they might become mates :/

Well, yes, the likelihood is that they find common ground with that Norwegian cunt and start to bond. Putting them in a cell with that fuckwad would more than likely intrigue them and tickle their fancy, put them in isolation for 2 years and then integrate them into a lion's den.
