Terrible news.

Kobe's been out of the spotlight for a little while now, but just last night LeBron eclipsed him on the number of all time points scored, so saw his name mentioned several times this morning. Then a few hours later the same sites that were discussing this now report that he's dead...surreal.

his daughter was onboard and so was another kid w/a parent. they were apparently on their way to his basketball academy for practice or something. helluva way to travel to ball practice.

Edit: Apparently Kobe traveled almost exclusively with his helicopter.
