This thread is about memories. About music that made you, influenced you, kicked your arse, kept you alive and floating.

Post your mix (past, present, future) of your all-time favorites.

I start with my Ingredients 3 - Passive Aggressive mix, back from 2008 or so feat. (of course) Aphex Twin, Autechre, Squarepusher, Luke Vibert, FSOL, Luke Vibert, Funkstörung, Goldie and a few more.

Enjoy my flashbacks. And I am looking forward to yours.

Random thoughts in regards to your topic that pertain to me (no order & just naming bands/musicians):

actually, too much I'm really interested in typing. I'll go with the First album I owned. Thriller-Michael Jackson. The Police, Prince, Hall & Oates, 80's boogie were what I enjoyed as a youth. That was my big bang & moved on from there. That old shit always has me reminiscing though.

Thanks user487363530. And user4873635301. Now 48736353001.

Aphex Twin - 4

Akira Yamaoka - The Day of Night

Arvo Pärt - Cantus in Memoriam of Benjamin Britten

Brian Eno - 1/2

Clark - Farewell Mining Town

Daft Punk - Night Vision

Earth - The Corascene Dog

Harold Budd - The Pearl (full album)

Gas - Untitled 1 (Gas - Nah Und Fern)

Maurice Ravel - Pavane pour une Infante Defunte

My Bloody Valentine - Sometimes

OPN - Ships Without Meaning/Emil Cioran

Plaid - Safety in Solitude

Polska - Ekqels

RATM - Born As Ghost

Steve Roach - Reflections in Suspension

Tetsu Inoue - Low of Vibration

The Chemical Brothers - The Test

Those are probably some of the tracks that had the most impact in my youth. Right now 21 so yeah, pretty much teenage taste. Lol, those blacks are the life changers.

I had the exact same idea for a mix the other day, maybe will post it once I'll gather all the stuff and make a good dj set out of it.

good idea for a mix, it sounds obvious in a way but ive never actually sat down and thought to make a mix this way, going to try it

Hey John & Adamovich: Looking forward to your mixes. I'll nudge you once in a while to remind you :-)

Hey olo & logakght: Interesting selection. Any chance to put this into a mix?

Best

Mark Fell's done a quality music-anthropology project with an Oxford Uni prof with these ideas in mind,

bit more focused on how tastes change & evolve, but the mixes rrrrrrrrock:

Nice! Will check it out.

It's actually not that far from the Ingredient mix idea, though it's more chronologically structured. That's actually quite a good idea for the next in the series.
