Did you know Aphex was asked to do a Tortoise remix, but declined to do so?

i saw this on instagram and almost shit myself

I bought the whole series of 12"s they did in the '90s

oval, luke vibert etc...

but the aphex track never got released!

doesn't surpise me he remixed them. i rememebr reading an interview once (can't remember where) in which RDJ said how much he loved Tortoise's music so it makes sense.

no doubt it was a better remix than the one autechre did

yeah i really love that autechre 12" though, even if it's very similar on each side, i'll listen again but if i remember correctly i love it and it kicks the shit out of my speakers and i love it

yeah and i love the artwork too. when that came out i was very into both bands and the idea of autechre reworking tortoise is still very very exciting to me

more so aphex twin reworking tortoise though
