Did you know Aphex was asked to do a Tortoise remix, but declined to do so?

I wonder if it was one of those cases where Rich had some random track laying around on a DAT and Thrill Jockey (or the band) contacted him with a remix request and he just grabbed that random DAT off his desk and mailed it in. For all we know, we've already heard it on the SC dumps.

It's a shame as it will never happen, but he needs an archivist. Someone to dig through all of the shit he has and just get down to it with info, etc. on all these random tracks and find those back stories.

So I asked Sam Prekop, who in turn asked his friend John McEntire, about the track.

He said they asked Richard to remix a Tortoise track but he politely declined.
