What a mess though, shouldn't all of this process have been laid out before the vote went through? I can already hear the howling of the British public on what democracy should be but no one can seem to agree on it.

The majority of the Tories were pro-remain. I don't think the majority of them will necessarily vote against any Article 50 bill though, there will be a lot of internal pressure on them to vote with the government, and they can use the whip to attempt to get them to toe the line. It will depend on exactly what the terms are going to be post-brexit, if it means tanking the entire economy (i.e. hard brexit) I don't see them going along with it, but on the other hand if they do go against the government, or if they force the government to take a more reasonable stance in negotiations (i.e. keeping free-movement), then there will be a revolt from the Eurosceptic wing. So either way the government will likely fall.

There's no doubt the entire process was poorly thought out, the referendum was badly worded (it was only advisory, has no force in law), made no mention of what terms brexit would take place under, and that stuff wasn't even talked about properly in the campaign. They could have worded the referendum bill to include the triggering of article 50, but my guess is that Cameron thought there was little chance of a Yes vote so didn't bother thinking it through fully.

I was a bit taken aback by them as well. It seemed kind of odd.

On a positive note, all parties involved seem to be condemning the attack. Putin, UN, Erdogan, etc.
