So when will the FA hire a good manager? How many mangers have they had the last couple of years? Yet the results are the same, early exits. Perhaps it's a problem with the players too as well as the managers.

This was the last time England took part in a European championship, right? Wales as well. They also voted out. ;-p

Hodgson has been the manager since 2012.

So not unreasonable to expect quarterfinals, and with some decent management semi-finals are possible. I mean you could make the argument that Spain should be at least in the semi-finals, look at that side, but Del Bosque is an idiot.

The Hodgson hire was odd, he managed the Finnish team awhile back to meager results and just comes off as a dinosaur that the game has passed long ago.

The english fans and media were crying out for an "English" manager. Well they got what they wanted...doesn't come much more english than woy. The only possible way it could have been more English was if he'd played 4-4-2 the whole tournament.

Anyways, terrible man management, terrible tactics, terrible substitutions. Just terrible.

I don't think that's necessarily accurate. There are some really really good fucking players in that England side - and they deserved a much better manager than Woy "look like an owl" Hodgson.

It's definitely a side that should have made it to the QFs - but the management fucked it up big style. From tactics to man management, you could tell Woy was way out of his depth.

 

if you look @ what Eddie Jones has done for the Anglo-Saxon rugby team, ie: turning a bunch of ego-warriors into a cohesive, gnarly unit playing...... hang on i dont know if my ancestors are gonna let this be said... progressive, intelligent passionate rugby, the same can be done with your football team.
