Was excited, had a tuss.

Now bonner is kill.

백호야~~~항상에 사랑할거예요.나의 아들.

Shout outs to the saracens, musulmen and celestials.

This is quite a departure from his Merck releases in the early 2000s, especially Now You Know and Urban Biology, back when his stuff was geekier. This new shit is just vapid.

(wonders if Travis is a WATMMer in secrete)

To keep it real and analog, I'm gonna start posting to WATMM by writing my posts in fountain pen on hemp paper, putting them in bottles, and throwing them into the ocean.

his old stuff is so fun

I wasn't a fan of his earlier stuff, and I'm 1000% not a fan of this. When rooms was getting hype I figured I just didn't get it. Now at least I can badmouth this dude with confidence.

he reads WATMM (and then regrets it after).

Lol I forgot about that usagi thanks for the reminder

but there's no way he didn't expect backlash from that track, so I'm sure he's as ready as a dude who gets riled up on Twitter when his deep Vs are made fun of he can be.

I've enjoyed Machinedrum ever since he made the transition from idm-underlord "Machine Drum" to footwerk-fusion lush null master, but he seems to have lost momentum since moving on to Ninja Tune. If he and Jimmy Edgar want to run like metrosexual stallions into a wildfire of blazing R&B tropes then good for them, but I'll pass.

This is like the soundtrack to a multiculti soda advert I never want to see.

wow.

haven't listened to anything from trevor since the last record he put out for m3rck

he is entirely capable of cranking out an album of u dont survives, now u know tha deals and door(s)(s) really not sure why he doesnt given that even mike p was like "room(s) weirdly became a landmark"

edit: no one does it betta

I still think Trevor is a badass, even tho he's crazier than bat guano

Can someone pls requote that legendary one about how Trav has groupies twirling his 'stache at the afterparty but leaves to go read the boc forum alone (pls)? Easily a top 10 g/o/a/t watmm posts contender

jah, room(s) is still great and he can take that to his grave. looking back that was such a right place / right time album - It needed a technician like Travis to make the logical connection between footwerk and jungle, and he did so masterfully

is he not always chasing trends? rooms sounds like a burial ripoff, bidnezz sounded like a prefuse ripoff, this sounds like someone trying to ripoff the new rusty/hudmo. maybe ripoff is a bit harsh but definitely seems heavily influenced by that kind of sound

er, no. he and Prefuse kicked off around the same time. Rooms is more footwork influenced than Burial influenced (wtf? I think you're thinking of Vapor City, which anyway has more on it than Burial-sounding tunes, that was just Gunshotta). and his bromance with Jimmy influenced more of his later dancefloor-oriented output than Hudmo or dem wastemanz like.

he does change tack depending on what takes his fancy, who he's around and what might be blowing up at the time but that's natural in a way, and if he were just another bland clone he wouldn't sound so good.

The vibe I get from machinedrum is like he plays a gig and chills for like 20 minutes in the afterparty on the couch with lots of coked out broads twisting his mustache and feeling his chest and cool bros giving him fist bumps, and then he's like "k guize i got 2 dip" and they're all like 'aww man okay cya machinedrum' and he goes back to his room and reads the boc forum alone

Hard to believe this is the same guy who used to make some of the most sincere tunes of the late 90s / early 00s IDM scene - Izzy Rael, Hello My Future, Hihowareyoudoingiamfine, etc.

Maybe because the melody and sounds in general are very upbeat, can't tell yet, but I want to stop listening to it and probably never will again. Is it a bad thing that I can imagine this over a beer commercial?

That trap trill .. ugh, it is ubiquitous.
