This is one of my all-time favorite shows, but after watching it, the whole "upside-down world" literally gave me nightmares for weeks.

(It's like some Hellraiser-esque archetypal world)

Weirded out by the fact that they made it look like a beat up VHS when it's actually a new cassette tape. 

I watched s1 in 24 hours last week. so yes, it was not original or groundbreaking at all, and is basically a remix/medley of some things that some people love very much from that era. I liked it in the moment for what it tried to do. it won't leave a lasting impression on me, but that's ok. I care enough to give s2 a go but I don't know if this show has any long-term value.

it was buoyed by acting but sunk by plot and horrible cgi

It was fine to watch once but ultimately forgettable.

People getting obsessed with it and buying faux vhs cassettes is fucking weird to me.

also, I didn't like how they used Atmosphere like it was just soundtrack music.
