That vid was actually really interesting though (the one that's been removed).  I'd seen it before.  Interesting that someone entirely non-verbal is so eloquent in writing.

Pretty wise words actually and kind of makes me think of the dilemma of animal rights. I'm by the way not comparing autists to animals, but the thinking that makes industrial mass stock farming possible also makes considering autists as some sort of mentally inferior beings possible.

Pretty strange that this vid has been censored.

Don’t get it, thought the video was a fascinating insight into communication, personhood, the way she went back through each scene, her interior world in real time through gestures all her own language system or something so beyond language to be almost ineffable.

We ain’t all kids taking the piss out of someone else’s dignity.

you came into another thread (topic/97493-im-ashamed-of-watmm-sometimes/) and blatantly posted a video (different to the one above) to take the piss out of an autistic person. you could've posted it anywhere, but you chose to bump that thread in order to draw attention to the issue of autism on watmm all over again, causing the thread to get locked.

and now you're claiming - quite seriously - that you had innocent intentions. what is your game?

He posted a video of an autist voicing their opinion in a thread related to autism. And if there wasn't any text removed that he posted that I'm not aware of and that's offensive, then this seems totally fine and appropriate

@Dragon Crediting that with an appropriate answer should be ignored. How cynical are you or more to the point what’s your game?

I work as a mental health advocate,.Now think about that. You’ve taken the polar opposite of the original intention & spun it 180degrees. The lady’s YouTube user channel is silentmiaow. Did you watch the one actually posted? Was there any bs involved?

pm’d JR Ewing, misinterpretation is easy to twist any way you deem fit. Or not. Or play games. Or write a protracted, pointlessly pedantic reply. And then apologise.

Agree 100%.  That thought occurred to me as well while watching.  There's this bizarre perspective some people take that if a there's no internal monologue taking place inside a living being, then it lacks sentience.  It's merely responding to stimuli like a machine would, without awareness.  I don't understand why anyone would make that assumption, but I hear it expressed from time to time.

This is actually opposite of pointless but an observation I have been having lately is that the older I get, the less ok I am with my ultimate and inevitable death. I feel like this should be trending opposite which would seem to be in line with most people as they grow older in that they generally are more comfortable with their mortality than the younger folk. Can’t even age properly. Fuck

Also where’s the diversity in the sub forums? No women. Minorities? LGBTQ? Cancel the sub forums. Cancel Lenny Kravitz and cancel Watmm

Seems pretty pointless to me. Death is inevitable. (fuck that's not the observation though, sorry)

How old are you? I think before 80 something most people are not warming up to the idea of dying and even then it's heavily dependant on general mental and physical health, amount of social contact and living situation.

We're all in this life in order to prepare for death.  If you aren't ok with your mortality, then something in your life is not right and you need to realign your priorities until you are ok with it.  Don't hesitate and don't ignore it, because your death is sooner than you think.
