Go plastic and do you know squarepusher are the first 2 i heard. both excellent releases, though i usually stop listening to do you know squarepusher after love will tear us apart. the live segments just make the album sound messy to me.

Squarepusher ranked (based on what I have heard so far.)
Ufabulum
Go Plastic
Be Up A Hello
Do You Know Squarepusher
Normal Hard Daddy
Enstrobia

Sorry if I have the wrong opinion on the ranking or whatever. I also just listened to Damogen Furies, but I'll have to listen to it again before knowing where it would go on my ranking.

you need minimum of 3 months of listening to each release and nothing else.

also, Selection 16 and Venus no 17 have to be there somewhere even if they're EPs or whatever.

and where's the big loada ma brutha?

lol.. for me they're all good to fucking legendary and i enjoy them all but not so w/ufabulum/damogenfrururies/just a souvenir

ranking things i know is what people do on the internet but squarepusher.. as much as anyone seems like his discography is like a long conversation or something. i guess the good ones do that

Take it slow rather than plow through them, most are surprisingly dense albums.  that said.. you still havent got to the best stuff (other than hard norral daddy).. Feed Me Weird Things, Rotted One Note, Selection Sixteen, Port Rhombus, Venus 17, Ultravisitor, Hello Everything, Mindphone

But cant stress enough, take breaks and spread them out for gods sake

Edit: basically saying same thing as ignatius :ok:

agred - take your time. it's a lot. you might listen to something now and think "WTF IS THIS" and next year put it on and think "THIS GUY IS THE FUCKING DADDY HE REALLY IS"

Squarepusha's yo fucking daddy.....makes different styles of drum n bass

if i can recommend one rather than like 10 or whatever, you should listen to ultravisitor next. it's a good mix of his technical programming prowess loud sounds and live bass.

I like ufabulum because it's hard and fast. harder and faster then the other stuff i've heard. and the songs that aren't fast are really hard, like dark steering.

worst album is ufababoon IMHO but there’s still some good tracks on it ( but that LED mask aesthetic and shit lol WTF Tom seriously ?)

Live squarepusher, his DJ sets  or mixes  is my usual listen over albums

Live:

Liquid Tokyo, 97

Fuji Japan 01,

Frigids Oz 01,

Tokyo 04,

Boston 04

DFN 16

BBC Electric ballroom

WARP20 2009 hello!!!

etc etc

Mixes:

VLR, my own mashups,  various mixcloud users

This new album is good  fodder for future live, DJ, mixes. Love it!

If you have any reccs for more of his music I'd love to hear it.

I'd recommend Buzz Caner mainly because of its analogue filth.

I think I decided Oberlove is his send off to his buddy who died.

The song screams to me "Thanks for all the memories and you will be missed!"

Hard Normal Daddy is the best TJ album ... ?

If you turn it off after track 3. ?

Edit: Okay, "Vic Acid" and "Rebus" are alright as well. But inbetween that ... ?

Papalon is the best track on the entirety of the album

The only track I like on that album is "Iambic 5 Poetry". ?

I guess I just don't like "jazzy" SP. Which is a lot of SP.

On the topic of other SP albums I gave Damogen another go. There's a couple of decent tracks on there but goddamn there's some real shockers too. Not keen on the production choices either.

Good news is that after the new one I can harvest enough tracks from the last 4 LPs to make one pretty decent comp I reckon.

Go Plastic all the way ! And his Warp20 material.

That's from a different EP for a start... Maybe give 'My Sound' another go?

Lol, sorry, that's what I meant! Yeah, "My Sound" off Music ... and "Iambic 5 Poetry" off Budakhan ... I always mix those two up, and I like them the least. From Selection 16 on, things are looking up a bit again AFAIC.
