maybe checking for errors in uploads to make sure no glitches? this has happened in the past w/various tracks they had to re-upload because of some kind of noises in the tracks.  happened a couple times since Exai.  maybe they're going to do the usual Tuesday release thing that music used to be released on.. so, a few days of notice/hype seems typical. warp gonna warp so.. whatever.. 

Warp isn’t secretly some inbred patron of the arts cutting checks from a drafty château.  I’m pretty sure even with their new contract the label isn’t going to let them dump shit online with no marketing or buildup.  And even if it did, why would they? That would be dumb. Ron and Seamus need to eat.

for sure, & to be fair i’ve had that same experience in lots of album/EP tracks, not just their live sets. that effect is amplified heavily in the live sets, and even more for more recent sets. 

i worry that it’s too prominent a part of the live stuff maybe? that effect has its goods and its bads…i’m here for it so far but i wonder if this is part of the live set stuff having a different reaction in general? idk, idk…enjoying talking through these thoughts & ideas & def glad getting to hear others’ takes

Absolutely, it’s an effect that been in there for a long time that plays in more with the live stuff of the last 15 years.

for sure a bigger factor in the 2022- sets. And yes maybe even too far in that direction. The edges have been rounded, the focus is so soft the shapes diffuse and bleed into each other and the surrounding darkness
