nice! i love seeing studio setups and seeing them shift. natural light is way more dramatic through the windows, but huge panes of glass aren't great for acoustics i'm sure...any idea what sort of paneling you're going to be building?

thanks dude! regarding the syntrx 2, it's fat AF but it has a few quirks/bugs. Biggest issue: you cannot export/backup your patches. I've mentioned a few other things in the GAS thread about it.

Indeed, OB6 desktop. Full, (un)filtered lushness. You can't quite escape that 80s sound (or maybe that's just me, I don't know heh), but that lushness tho.

Of those two analog synths, the syntrx is better for sharp basslines and weird modulations; the ob6 is of course polyphonic.

yep, well said, those windows are quite problematic tbh. I measured the space with a calibrated mic, the low frequency region is rather terrible, some +10dB boost at 60Hz due to the room's shape, the windows etc.

For the panels, here's more or less the recipe I've got:

• Filled with mineral wool or rockwool; looking for material whose "airflow resistance" factor is around 6 kPa.s/sqm.
• Wooden frame with dimensions 60cm x 120cm x 10cm WxHxD. Normally there's a need for an air gap as well, in order to have some effect on the low frequencies. But this would end up with panels ~20cm deep, which may not be feasible. Anyway, for the wooden frame, I think I'll follow this dude's approach.
• Mineral wool will ideally be wrapped in thin painter's foil to minimise wool particles travelling in the air.
• Whole thing will be covered with "audio speaker" fabric. Sounds like this Camira Cara fabric is really good for that stuff, although expensive.

Looking to make at least 12 of those, and place some of them alongside the window wall, between the windows and curtains.

nice space! when you make acoustic panels consider making some 4 inch thick ones for front/back walls. helped my space a lot but my basement ceiling is lower.  corner traps helped massively too w/standing waves. i had real bass issues for a while.
