Did you hear something from ae and BoC that has

incorporated melodically user-friendly and funny

stuff and at the same time developing complex compostitional

structure? But not in terms of rythm...?

The rythm is obviously a constant on this album.

It's like a base.

So is it fair to say that this album is just a little bit of everything that SQP has done in past all compressed into a few tracks?

Well, I belive so. Dunno, maybe it's a collection of Sqp's

newest stuff, but I see it more as a very self-confident

melodic album..Can't say at what period he made the

tracks, but that's not important. It's new advanced Squarepusher.

 

It has more than few uplifting, fast and complex tracks. It's

hard to find such melorytmic juice in any album these days.

 

Compressed, yes, but of everything that he has done.. I disagree.

Because the ideas are new, again, but the knowledge of

arranging, and expertise in playing is used to light out

new acpects in music.

although Planetarium is the same choon as 'not over yet' by some cheesy rave act from a few years back - i feel a mashup coming on

Well you can call it that way, altough I think that then, everything he has done

is a some kind of clinical arrangement. Cause, u see, the melody that goes

to the end in Planetarium is really something quite unusual for sqp.

It has that random, atonally sequence of tones, that fits perfectly in the background.Very much

like ae (acroyear).

You got that calm-down ambient part in "Rotate electrolyte" which is something

that hasn't been heard from after FMWT. Sort of calm, airy, mistic jazzy harmonies shift.

And there's tundra 4 - the modulating harmonies in "Rotate electrolyte" at the

end are a sequence of modulations between distant tonalities, like in tundra 4's

calmdown.

No. There's no fun dance tracks like DYKS, Talk About You And Me, Red Hot Car, etc.

 

And no rapping.

this is the best sp album so far.

Indeed, I believe i'm owed some money by young larry at this point.

He'll never come back. Which is a shame cause he was funny and made some good tunes.

It's funny, because I just recently started listening to much music (the last couple years), so I'm get his old albums and his new one, at the same time.

I've only heard:

Go Plastic!

Ultravisitor

squarewindow

 

in that order.

wow, never visiting the subforums make me miss the whole leak business...now teh dilemma is wait for it to arrive in the post or just dload it...hmmmm

So far it sounds more like Madeski, Martin & Wood. It's enjoyable, just quite a diffren't pace.

i dloaded it..and after a quick scan it seems to be an alright release..some really good tracks on it...

Just here to say I love the new release, and though I've heard it all I've preordered it as well.

 

Also I want to have tom jenkinson's babies.
