Not really, you absolute tit.

"They're about guns, lasers, robots with laser guns in space. Monsters from the future. Explosions. Sylvester Stallone doing a backflip on top of a spike while Robocop carries a ghost up a mountain. Bombs and swords and that... IDM is awesome."

Keep your eyes on the AFX gig and the other TBC gigs as i reckon the sequence boys will have soemthing to do with em and last year they had some ace artists on like DJ stingray, Robhall, ae, modeselektor etc....

Also the Detroit night with Francois K, UR and Jeff mills will be amazing

Yeah the UR gig looks cool but its a bit pricey at £17.50 as is the Aphex gig. Be keen to see who else is playing. To be honest am more keen on the UR gig than Aphex.

If you had just put this in your original post I wouldn't have called you a tit, it's irritating the amount of fake shit that gets chucked about here.

 oh my word! two days before my birthday too! Hmm, I think it's safe to say I'll be there

i've got my ticket ordered allready and i'm looking forward to it.

Promo, £17.50 is pocket money mate, i payed around that much for Autechre and LFO last year at the Boddingtons rave and it was well worth it!

I'll keep an eye on this site and see whatever else takes my fancy

Yeah, I totally agree but a lot of the gigs I go to are like dirt cheap for a damn good night's entertainment. Like take for instance the forthcoming Remarc gig in Norwich you mentioned; I think that's only going to be £4 now that's a ridiculous bargain!! And my night is only £5!!

Haha, that's what made me consider popping up for it. My birthday is on the 10th but I get the feeling that I will be on my own to celebrate it as none of my friends are into electronic music.

I'm starting at Manchester uni in a couple of months - Im there!

edit: though 17.50 + 2.50 booking fee is a bit of a pisstake

Yeah, it is considering one can have a fuckin' wicked time at a lot of nights of relative unknowns for about £4/5. I've tried a few times to see Aphex but each time its been a no show or something else has happened. I reckon he's probably charging around £10k to play so I guess I'm not too surprised they're charging £20.

LOL at that supersmooth plug Promo

It's really not that much. Getting up there for us poncy Southern types will be the more expensive bit

From what I have heard about seeing AFX live is that he is either awesome, shit or just doesn't bother turning up. If I make the mission of getting to Manchester for my birthday only for him to fuck about with some sandpaper I will be hunted down by most of the board as I would brutally murder him.

The only time hes never turned up when ive went to see him was Glastonbury 2004 and we had to watch Amp fucking Fiddler in his slot, before SP and after Ceephax when the cunts tuned up all over the top of him. I think sandpaper is a bit mid nineties, ive lost count how many times ive seen him and its always been an old style rave :rhubear2:

yeah i have seen him twice and the first time he just played very manacing dark sine tones for about 10 minutes but then it became the greatest music i have ever heard in my life. Similarly the second time, he started with a torrent of recorded abuse for about 5 minutes (just loads of different swear words) but then he got well into it.

Was that Glade 05? If so that was a proper rollercoaster of a set, was bloody ace.
