I went to the Warehouse parties at the Boddies brewery and the sound was pretty shit throughout. Heard this new 'bunker' venue is a lot better

Nah I haven't been to this venue yet. My sister went the other week and said it was a hell of a lot better sound wise than at Boddies - but to be honest I never had much of a problem there as I always stand near speakers anyway!

the venue itself is ace... looks amazing when it's in full swing.

they have a huge funktion one in place too... sound is HEAVY!

Anyone know what time the Surgeon night finishes at?? I'm watching Pendulum at the Uni that night which will be finishing around 1am, wondering if its worth going down to this after

For god's sake, shows how much I notice my surroundings...walked up to Piccadilly station after work yesterday, as I do almost every day, and saw that I do in fact walk straight past that pub everytime.

seems that every night has been pandering popular shit catering for the people with angular hair. went to the coccoon night last week and Hardfloor were amazing but everyone one else was minimal trendy rubbish i felt like i was in Nathan barly, so looking forward to some uncompromising music not pandering to wankers

To be honest that's why I've given it a miss this year. The aphex night is the only one I'm going to as it's the only one I've been genuinely excited about.

Green Velvet completely bettered Dave Clarke last year (think you went to that one too mate?), he was one of my highlights and should have had the headline slot :)

Yeah green velvet has been ace everytime i have seen him but didnt go last year. Seeing the hacker live would be ace as the hacker is brilliant.

Dave clarke was mediocre this year at WHP seemed to be crowd pleasing. all the other times i have seen him has been with a wicked underground line up so he has been no holds barred techno so i have come to expect this but seems WHP brings out the nathan barley in people.

The one i regret not going to is the detroit night as francois K and jeff millls would have been amazing but im a sucker and didnt go

it wasn't that great dude.. UR were disappointing. didn't stay for mills although i heard he tore it up.

the only other night i'm interested in is the Valve soundsystem, with Skream, Dillinja and Dj Zinc, but this is the night after Afx so i can't really be arsed.

Although my mate is a member of Micron who are supporting on the Hacker night, 30th...so i might catch some of you there.

Ive got to say Andy Weatherall played one of the best sets Ive ever seen at Sankeys a couple of years ago, pounding techno and electro so Im well up for the Kitten and him one

I also went to the Dave Clarke and Green velvet and totally agree with Stripey hat, Clarke was mediocre and the sound was awful. Green Velvet was brilliant though, when he played french kiss the place erupted
