Guest Jimbob
that is absolutely wank mate, i'm sorry to hear that. What's pretty daft is that they're giving a load of free tickets for this weeks Kittin/Hacker night, that is a proper piss take. Guest Rambo
I know some spaz who might be putting some tickets on ebay. He isn't really the fanboy type so im not sure he's arsed about going. Does anyone want me to give them a shout if it happens? I can get him to give me text. It sounds piss poor, the organisation for this thing. Guest blutac
never ever ever give in to ebay. If you wait it out you will almost always be successful and you won't be sponsering complete CUNTS, (full offense intended to anyone who has bought a ticket for an event they weren't ever planning on going to just to make money of fans). Scarlet Mist is pretty crap at the moment, but if it ever gets popular could be awesome, and I've known success stories to come of it. BUT the best option: Wait till 3 or so days before the event so basically the middle of next week. this is the time where the combination of touts wanting to get rid of all their spare tickets, and genuine fans who couldnt get time off work or the couldn't get a lift or whatever, leads to a situation where lots of people sell at face price if not even sometimes cheaper. Examples in point - a group of my mates got tickets for Glade 2 years ago ranging from face value to 20 quid under, on the thursday morning off ebay. I was convinced to go to the Reading 2006 when my mate found a pair of tickets on gumtree for 200 quid. This was especially sweet (in a mean way) because some of my other friends had parted with 200 quid each for their tickets about 3 weeks before). Every so often you might even get incredibly lucky and get a ticket from somewhere you hadn't even been looking! :yeah: :yeah: :yeah: :yeah: :yeah: Obviously this isnt guaranteed and you might miss out eventually, but it feels so good when you finally beat the touts its worth it. Guest blutac
Rambo said: Woah there tiger......he isn't a tout. that wasn't particularly directed at him, although I'd still think it better if he was selling it at face value not on ebay. On better news I've now officially been diagnosed with glandular fever which means I can't have fun for the rest of the year. I am however going to risk next weekend as a one off. Anyone got any advice from past experience, I'm over the worst of the feverish stage I think/hope. Not meant to drink for a couple of months because of something it does to your liver, obviously thats not gonna happen, but does anyone know if that would mean I shouldnt do pills either? Guest bod
Just to report on the venue, went on Friday picked up our complimentary tickets on the door, which turn out to be VIP passes Head to the VIP area which was about as low rent as you can get- a few tables and chairs and a portaloo. We did meet Andrew Weatherall though is as nice a bloke as you can imagine. I've got to say I was pretty impressed with the venue itself, its just big enough to give it a bit of a wow factor but much more itimate than the Warehouse at the Boddies brewery last year. One main room and a mint sound system Kitten and the hacker were (unsurprisingly) a big pile of wank, theyre a right pair of misnomers aswell and their electropop piss got right in the way of the techno with their set being placed in the middle of the night. The night wasn't ever going to be AFX but Weatherall was brilliant at the end. I reckon next week will definately be something special but my advice would be get there as early as possible. I was expecting the venue to be bigger and its going to be heaving in there Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/23900-afx-in-a-warehouse-in-manchester/page/7/#findComment-607980 Share on other sites
Guest blutac
I'm overcome with the most incredibly beautiful sensation of justification. Holding out against the touts I've now managed to source a total of 4 tickets for me and my mates all at face value. I've never been more certain of how right I am. Guest Jimbob
Excellent Blutac, didn't see that one coming. Do you lot know anything about how to beat sniffer dogs? I'm not sure if it's worth the risk, whether i should just get some gear inside, inside be it overpriced but there's a price to pay for everything i guess. Anyone had any experience with them?
