it's not going to be a double album, there will actually be 20 discs, with each track one hour long (electronic music)

well, it seems to be the trend

other artists have gone analog-like, in a retro way (analord, tuss, last step...)

untilted was also more straight forward than draft or confiled

it's so incredibly odd that the album will have 20 tracks ... i guess the other albums ranged from 8-12? warp have never done a double album, that i can recall, and autechre certainly haven't, so i'm guessing they'll either all be 3-4 minutes, or a lot of those are very short interlude tracks

yeah good call, i quickly thought back through the catalog but nothing came immediately to mind. so, two double albums in 16 years ... i dunno, just seems unlikely. and you'd think they would mention this in the press release

yeah slow acid on Gescom's 2nd to last one was brilliant use of the acid template, however cutting up a classic acid song in a beat slicer like they did on the last gescom is pushin it into heavily masturbatory territory.

not exactly, two of the tracks were but overall the theme for the last Gescom was total plunderphonics remixing. I actually would be more interested to see AE go in this direction than trying to be AFXy and going analogue

like track 3! one of the better track I heard this year!

I bet the gescom EP was Quaristice leftovers and that the album will be the most dancey album AE ever made! and it will also include some acid, yes.

I also bet that some tracks from the Untilted live set will be on it.

If this means a la Slow Acid, then me too. But I think they are taking a break from computers. Unless you mean with their digital hardwares.

It just occurred to me that the live set from the Untilted tour could probably be broken into about 20 separate tracks, so I'm a little afraid it will be that same material. I doubt it though, doesn't seem like something Autechre would pull.

I don't know what to expect from Quaristice... It would not impress me if it was made off hardwares like Untilted. We simply can't know how the album will sound like. If you think about it, they have done completely different shit between each album. The material used in the production of the album may be the same as in some previous releases, but the atmosphere will be totally new.

i was told from an inside source that quaristice would be 'dancefloor' so if the live show is any indicator, the album might have a more looping syncopated feel.

An explanation for the 20 tracks might go in line with what you're saying, i suspect it would be a beat mixed and/or totally seamless AE album. Something like Richie Hawtin's DE9 im thinking. The live show bootlegs i've heard are mostly seamless beat matched mini songs at a high tempo ~170bpm and only getting faster around 200bpm at the very end. If this is the direction they go for with the album i would be very pleased. But yeah lets hope its all new material, chances are it will be... None of the live show material for the Confield tour made it onto the Draft lp.

Druqks, SAWII, Preparations (Prefuse 73)

the untilted tour played tracks from untilted, for the most part; each part of their usual set could be traced back to a track from untilted (i'd say 2/3rds of the time). i doubt it'll be old material

no I dont mean the untilted ones yes they played LCC, Pro Radii and Augmatic Disport but the rest was mainly new material....I got a live set from 2005 were the tracks are cut off and its 15 new tracks like a new album, more dancey stuff..:D
