I must admit after getting into Autechre via Aphex Twin I rarely listen to Aphex Twin anymore. Or for that matter any other artists, excepts when I go into lapses of Tom Waits hehe.

Maybe I should give the Aphex a spin again soon. The thing is I generally find Aphex less inviting, a bit more snarling and edgy. To me there's something ominously evil about RDJs work that I just don't need and dig in any way anymore. Autechres sound is just somehow more inviting, innocent and playful. Deeper and more appealing. This is my opinion.

aphex twin still always seems like a great thing to fall back on. him being my first IDM artist, his stuff is like IDM comfort food
