Autechre new autechre - may 19th 2008

FFS this is anal. The Autechre guys twiddled the knobs a bit differently, record it and call it a new track. Warp and Ae are really taking the piss here and taking advantage of fanboy's good nature in that they'll cough up for the tracks without hearing 'em first. Thus far this is a waste of £8 in my opinion, which is hardly breaking the bank I know but the additional thousands worth of revenue Warp/Ae are going to make out of milking this is daylight robbery. It's the principle more than anything and three quarters of this track sounds so similar to the original. I agree with gl0tch - "Truly sad" what a fucking rip-off!!!!!!!!!!

maybe 1% difference betwen the Quaristice version of Perlence. Fuck of Sean fuck of Brown

i like it its like a longer, much faster paced version of perlence range3. its not exactly the same but it is a cd of VERSIONS and its rediculous that you people are irritated by the fact that it is similar to the album version.

btw it breaks the 10 minute mark, how the hell could it be the same????

anyways i love perlence so i'm not going to complain if there are 4 more versions that are almost the same

honestly if you are that concerned about hearing it first you can preview the ENTIRE track on bleep

and its cheap as shit, if you honestly dont see the appeal in other quaristice versions than don't spend your money on it but i personally think its an awesome idea and i'm super psyched for the next 11 tracks

Perlence Range 3, then Perlence, like that thing with 901012, there is obviously a transition, the synths at the beginning of perlence start at the end of range 3... the whole purpse of this releasing songs-puzzle seems to be making one veeery huge electronic album... The beautiful Perlence will be one biiiiig track of about an hour, with PerlenceSuns being the last part of the perlence-EP.... then parallel suns... hm.

Autechre are somewhat trying to make more profit, I don't know... Those jamming tracks are just outtakes, therefore they don't deserve to be released on vinyl or CD in the band's opinion. It is just a way to offer more to their fans after 3 years of silence.

Can we just get over the fact that this release is all new versions of tracks off Quaristice, and not the brand new album of the most amazing material ever that is somehow owed to you for being a ridiculous fanboy? How about discussing the music itself. "Perlence range7", another solid in my opinion. I really dig how it breaks down with that acid line at about the 5:00 mark.

its funny that at first many were complaining about the short tracks on quaristice,

saying they missed the epic autechre style.

now one can choose and still the nagging continues.

i can understand that one might be hoping for something "more" here

but once the dust settles and people have gotten over paying for beautiful music,

they will see that this shit is all fucking awesome autechre goodness.

and also a cd won't carry more than 80 minutes,

so this whole extravaganza gives anyone who cares

and who listens to music from a pc or mp3player the possibility

to put together their own ideal mega quaristice playlist.

seriously, some of you folks are fucking stupid. who didn't see this coming? anyone who listened to Versions, or even heard secondhand accounts of Versions, should have known exactly what to expect from Quadrange. and yes, you can preview all you like in bleep.

perlence range 7 is pretty boring, yeah. it's a lot like the other 2 versions. boohoo.

i bought this shit blind. so far, worth every penny. exactly what i expected. i expected a boring "perlence range 7," and i expect some more boring tracks. it will all be exactly as i expect too, because i'm not fucking stupid.

I was not saying I did not like those versions. I haven't complained yet. It is just those tunes have been re-used a lot so far. Don't get angry at people who don't share the same opinion as you, though. Once those bundles are available, I will listen to them as wholes and give an accurate opinion. So for the moment, I am on nobody's side.
