Aphex Twin i've overplayed aphex twin

the tuss is great. but much more into "mainstream" than drukqs .

see, the difference between drukqs and tuss is simple. drukqs, one of the most brilliant pieces of music ever written, is a timeless classic, and will continue to be one of the greatest works of genius ever.

where as the tuss, will eventually be forgotten, and thrown into the bunch, as those 2 releases that might be by rdj.

tuss is mainstream, poppy, normal sounding music, which is OK, but it will die out, and eventually everyone will become bored of it too. drukqs is just so alien sounding, there's nothing like it.

i don't know, the tuss is boring and drukqs isn't, OK?

Drukqs is a collection of tracks that are like tracks we've known before.

Don't get me wrong, I love Ziggomatic, Vordhosbn or Kesson Daslef, but it hasn't got that much NEW.

And there's no concept behind it.

The Tuss was new and I still love it.

I wasn't that impressed when I first heard it, but now I adore it.

imo drukqs lacks humor and irony. it's completely emotional which is great but the tuss music is more "open" and fun. drukqs is too introspective and narrow-minded. tuss is fun and trippy + synthacon 9 is one of my favourite tracks ever.

I love rushup edge, i think aphex has matured absolutely loads since druqks.

Drukqs is a classic for sure... but Rushup Edge doesn't try to be as epic as Drukqs. You can tell it's just like 6-8 tracks he thought were his best he put onto an alias. While, Drukqs and the RDJ album and any of his full length releases just seem so much more precise and fullfilling. In time Rushup Edge will be put into the same catagory as CTD and Windowlicker EP's because it's not really a complete release. The tracks will be recognized, not the album.

twin's music has always seemed like diametrical components interacting, bass and treble in very crude words. girl/boy song in a great example of diametrical components interacting.

the majority of music consists of the interaction of musical components, i realise. so it's on a more substansive level that i enjoy aphex's music.

but with the tuss the segments seem sticky somehow, almost like they are organisms interacting and changing each other. and i simply cannot explain what the fuck he's doing (the same with pre-analord stuff to be fair, but to a much lesser extent) to interest me so much. and in part that's why i love to listen to the tuss so much.

on a very physical level, the tuss fucks with my ears. and i like that. there's times when i'm listening to the tuss and i realise my ears have never heard anything like this before, and they tingle. and my es.

ALTHOUGH i find it easier to listen to drukqs sometimes, but analord and the tuss is eventually much more rewarding on A COGNITIVE LEVEL.

I have never overplayed Aphex Twin's music because I don't listen to his stuff really often.

Richard D. James Album (10-Track Version) is honestly my favorite album ever made. I've probably listened to that album about 300 times. Analord and Rushup Edge/Confederation Trough were refreshing when they came out because lately in the last few years I've been into Autechre a lot. What with Untilted and Draft and now Quaristice which are all awesome, don't get me wrong, it was nice hearing something danceable while all that experimentation from Autechre was going on.

What I would love to see is Richard D. James Album Part II or something, basically the same exact style. See some say that Hangable Auto Bulb was better than RDJ Album, but I feel that on RDJ Album there is something that he had perfected that wasn't present on HAB. It was as if he had figured out a way to make all those drums feel like lyrics, and all the melodies and background sounds just added another dimension to the experience as a whole.

I know he doesn't really give a shit about impressing anyone or putting out his stuff, but I really wish he would just scroll through his laptop and release some tracks that sound like that era of Aphex. JUST TEN IS ALL IM ASKING FOR MR JAMES JUST TEN
