I think that preview is just his way of asking for being fed more weird things again. Let's start with his guitar... :flower:

Hmmm, not crazy about the new track but I gotta give him props for changing up his style again. God I would love to hear some more crazy jazz ala Music Is Rotted though.

Also, just listened to the Bangface set last night, which does indeed have some amazing tracks, especially the first one. Hope some of these make it on the new album.

Preview sounds ok I guess. But I want him to do more epic Tundra 4-ish stuff.

I kinda think he's done with the whole digital craziness thing. Definitely more into the acoustic and analogue aspect of his music now, especially in light of his work with evan parker and the new song Sounds like he's going in a post-rock direction to me. Honestly though, how much further can he take the Drill n bass aesthetic. I thought Tundra 4 was the apex of it, honestly where can you go from there?

I'm still looking forward to the new one, but I think it's a pity he seems to be sticking with this guitar stuff. I liked it as an excursion on Ultravisitor, but all in all I find it pretty weak compared to what else he's come up with. Feed Me Weird Things isn't exactly the same as Go Plastic, but both are cool in their own way, so I wouldn't mind him doing something else, again, but the latest style over and over again just seems a bit dull...

what i'd love to hear, and what i think he's striving for, is a seamless amalgamation of the two. weather report or derek bailey or evan parker with insane beatfuckery, sorta.

it just struck me, i'd fucking love to see him work with paul flaherty and chris corsano

I enjoy the fragility of the rolling lol tbh. The broken lol is like our own mortality staring us in the face, reminding us to enjoy that sunset.

i think he can still make something vital out of drillnbass

I really don't think it can be done, that genre has been bone dry for and while now. I think he can combine certain aesthetics of Drill n bass with other genres like he did with Music is a rotted one note... but for the most part I think he's gotten most of the digital mayhem out of his system. I think it's more of a novelty to him now, and something he'll go back and visit every once in a while like he did with The Modern Bass Guitar on HE.
