Terminator Salvation

is anybody else confused as to why John Conner appears confused at the prospect of human/machine hybdrids? he says 'they are studying human tissue' in a way that worries me, as if they are rebooting the franchise to such an extent that Conner has no memories of Terminator 2. I dont care if they dont connect it to terminator 3, but it would be strange and wont sit right if they didn't include properly John conners experience in Terminator 2

also i know this is probably a minor quibble to some but a huge deal to me, but one thing heavily lacking from these Salvation trailers is the same aesthetic the war with the machines flashbacks(forwards) footage in T1 and T2.

for instance, the piles of skulls, the overly blue lit dark look (i understood it as a kid that the sun was blocked out because they never show it during the day)

and how the humans look totally rag tag army with no technology except for inexplicably high technology purple/blue laser guns

when describing it in full it sounds cheesy, but i dont know something from Salvation feels hollow even inc omparison to those breif scenes of the future we see in T1 and 2

Well think of it this way, the film is set in 2018, the flash backs(forwards?) in T1 and T2 are set in 2032, in that time, skulls will be piling up, and the plans for new weapons would have been stolen and modified by the resistance so they can get pretty flashing guns and they would have learnt to fight in the dark as Kyle said "you stay down by day, but at night you can move around. you still have to be careful because the H-Ks use infrared."

And this film is all about the T-800 coming online, adapt and survive

makes some sense, but why does john seem confused/bewildered at the prospect of a human/machine hybrid in this trailer? did his memories of a T800 coming to save him get erased?

Well, hopefully they've added some sort of twist to the story which will be the excuse for his confusion. Like in T3 (even though I don't see that as part of the franchise) where they found out that judgement day was inevitable.

sadly the director for T3 had a much better previous track record for directing than does McG, so if you dont count T3 as part of the franchise for whatever reason, this new director McG needs to have morphed into an auter me thinks to make T4 included in the franchise

Because Marcus is something "different" than what the T-800 is he is not from 2018, it will be explained in the film :ok: I could tell you but then you would be like me spoilt :(

too bad this is PG 13

I don't know why they do this anymore. When I see R rated movies nowadays half the audience is families with kids under the age of 14.

Blame Spielberg, man. He insisted on the PG13 because of Temple of Doom

Ugh, I basically have to watch this film, for the same reason I carry on watching Lost, because the series started so well. I don't hold out hope that it'll be much cop however.

When I imagine machines rounding people up into concentration camp looking places it strikes me as something that would be terrifying and gritty. Something not PG13 basically. Not that I want it to be a gore fest, but if we're talking a futuristic film where machines roam the land with the sole purpose of slaughtering humans, that strikes me as a particularly violent story.

Actually fuck it, I do want a gore fest. Fuck you McG.

looks terrible.

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

bah even the trailer is boring - the longer one even more than the shorter one

I hate this pseudo dramatic stuff of the "poor humans" trapped by the "evil machines"

it has no originality whatsoever

The shorter trailer was better, this longer one makes it look far too much like made for tv/sarah conner chronicles styled rubbish crossed with Mad Max 3 , I hope i'm wrong.
