Deadspace

(yeah I know I'm a bit behind the times but I don't play games like I used too and I don't pay anything more than £15 for any game)

No worries. I'm playing it too.

Demon's Souls. Getting better and better. Just killed 2 bosses. Some giant spider and a giant knight. And I've been "alive" for almost 4 hours, which is great!

Confield is a very fitting soundtrack for this game.

today at the tip, i found a immaculate condition copy of PES 2009. if it wasnt so fucking shit i would loved it. fifa 10 (and 09) is mind blowingly better then pes 2009 in everyway

also the aliens vs predator demo is extremely under whelming.

Trials HD - just finished the extreme levels. Best game in ages. Hardcore and old skool. Almost has an infinite learning curve.

Played Arkham Asylum for an hour or so, not my cup of tea.

I gotta find my dreamcast cables .

I heard Sega might be re-releasing games on Xboxlive and the PSN. Fucking hope so, so many decent games on there. I still have all my Dreamcast games but I lost the console :( Used to love JSR.

Finally got past the Cerebus dogs boss on God of War after having to drop to easy difficulty which is embarassing. Has to be one of the most difficult boss battles I've ever gone through.

chill bro it's legit

You still didn't post any k/d stats or playtime :emotawesomepm9:

Oh, and you were right about Battlefield 2 - I downloaded the demo, and the (lack of) AA is really poor. Compared to CoD or even the first Battlefield, it feels like a step back visually. Perhaps it was just the demo and the final code will be ironed out.

ok, legitimate question.

im pretty horrible at first person shooters, i usually avoid the multiplayer gig because of it...i dont feel like spending two hours getting blown up everytime i respawn or whatever.

that said, these games seem to be immensely popular, but i have never played Call of Duty (i think thats what you guys are talking about?)

would I be able to play it? or would it end with me drunkenly pissing on the tv in contempt?

FPSes are games you have to invest time in to get good - if your hand/eye coordination is poor, then you'll be fighting an uphill battle. My recommendation is to play the shit out of the single-player experience until you breathe that shit and then you should be ready for online. Otherwise, don't bother.

I bought PixelJunk Monsters (another tower defense game). It relies too much on trial and error, instead of real strategy.

On many maps, there's no way to know which direction the monsters will enter from, so you can't plan ahead. Guess wrong, and it will cost you the game. With 20 waves per level, you have to guess right 20 times.

Winning comes down to playing (and losing) the same level over and over until you know the full order. It's a cheap way to add difficulty and length to a game.

That said, it's pretty addictive.

Yes, PJM is mostly trial and error, but the same rules that apply for each monster type is the same for every level, so knowing that the next wave is a wave of fast-moving spiders with shields that are resistant to physical attacks helps when you see it on the next wave preview bar at the bottom. It's more like a traditional action game where memorization and knowing the game rules is more important than pure strategy.

Well, I went on Tuesday to pick up White Knight Chronicles (International Edition, lol) for the PS3, and Lamestop said it was "shipping" that day, but would actually arrive Wednesday. So much for "date and day" on videogames.

T'was a good thing though - I read some reviews of it yesterday, and overall I get the impression that while it's all right, the huge amount of time it took to come out, then be localized into English and other languages leaves it a bit dated. Had this come out in the first year of the PS3's arrival, it would have been a great first-generation game. Unfortunately, it's flaws are enough for me to pass on it even though I was really looking forward to it.

In fact, Metacritic's current overall score is 65, so I am glad I passed on it - not to say a game ranked 65 is always bad, but something as big as an RPG should garner a higher score, IMO.

In addition to the AvP demo, the PS3 also gets the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 multiplayer demo today as well - I cannot fucking wait, as while I like CoD, I always preferred the depth the Battlefield series offered. We didn't get in the closed multiplayer beta when it was offered back in November/December, so my son and I are stoked it's an open demo/beta now.

This is exactly why I didn't get it myself. I'm disappointed TBH. Oh well, I'll get my RPG fix from FFXIII in the not too distant future.

Yes, I've decided FFXIII is gonna be my RPG to play - hopefully the rumoured linearity won't hurt the journey too much.

Also, the God of War III demo is fantastic - cannot wait to play the full game next month.

GoW III Demo? :wang:

Yes - you can get it on the District 9 Blu-Ray disc (not a rental disc though, only the retail copy), or buy the February issue of Qore Magazine on the PSN (2.99USD) to get access to it. It's amazing, and I daresay it's graphics surpass Uncharted 2's in terms of cinematic quality.

You also get it with the god of war collection, although I'm in the UK and I hear its North America only. Haven't tried it yet as I've not completed the others before and don't wanna find out the story. Just about to finish the first one.

Yeah, the only way you guys even get the GoW Collection is to buy the Uber-Expensive GoW III Ultimate Edition... Then again, if you imported it from the US, it's only 30.00USD at the moment, which is around 12GBP...

Managed to get it on ebay for £25 with postage, apparantly the demo with it won't work though although like I said I haven't yet tried.

Some of the trophies on this game are ridiculously easy. I just got a gold for going up Hades Skeleton without getting hit, even though I died a few times attempting it, and the only way to get up is by not hitting a spike.

Anyone played the Heavy Rain demo yet? Another thing I need to try out when I go through my mass pile of games to play. Gonna pre-order it anyway though

I have a demo code for Heavy Rain, but I'm in the same boat you are - it's for PAL territories only, so it won't work. PM me if you want the code. The GoW III demo, if on the GoW Collection disc, should work if it's on the disc - if it's a download code voucher, then you'll have to have set up a US-based PSN account to download it from. I don't have a EU PSN account, so my Heavy Rain download code doesn't work.

If you want to get the code yourself, "]Kotaku has a nice way to cheat to get it...

The reviews I've read so far say it's just more of the same, and the Big Daddy doesn't feel 'heavy and lumbering', more like a regular player... even the progression of the plasmid unlocks are virtually identical...
