A few films recently watched.

i rewatched four lions and enjoyed it even less than the first time. thought it might be a grower but no. where usually morris writes great dialogue, the language in this was terribly unfunny. the insults in subtitles were rubbish. it has moments but overall very disappointing

Sadly, yeah, you're dead-on.

the osterman weekend. on paper this looked good (ok, if you ignore convoy)... peckinpah's last film with rutger hauer, john hurt, burt lancaster, dennis hopper, etc.

think they blew the budget on the all star cast and had nothing left for scripting, set and equipment... looked cheap and felt like a tv movie. had some good moments but was pretty shit and got farcical towards the end. this one is only for peckinpah fans, if that.

Flipping through flicks to watch last night via On Demand I actually came across it, Sneak.

Wound up watching 50 Dead Men Walking. Pretty cool film.

EDIT: And before that I went and saw Green Lantern for lolz. I really don't know what I was thinking.

Insidious is demoniacal fun, nothing more, nothing less. I love the make up. For fans of 'From Beyond' and 'Poltergeist', I think it will be very enjoyable. If you over think the film, the magic will be lost. 8/10

I watched Titus again for the first time in about 10 years. /10, still.

I remember, once upon a time, thinking there were no limits to Julie Taymor's brilliance.

Then, she made Across the Universe, and I realized her brilliance is indeed very limited.

limitless - 2/10 pretty crappy, way to fuck a good premise...

appaloosa - 7/10 - a very solid western, but just way too trad.

fix't. I remember being...impressed? by Titus...there was one scene in particular that stuck in my head as one of the freakiest images on celluloid

Would like to see it again. I remember Anthony Hopkins being hammy as hell in the film's climax, like the Spinal Tap version of the character he played in Silence of the Lambs...

It is definitely Hopkins at his "I'm Anthony Hopkins slurpslurpslurp this is how I act now slurpslurpslurp" hammiest.

Hangover(1): 7/10 Not that bad a movie. Lots of stupid bits in it, but generally interesting and kinda real (hangover-wise hah).

I am number four 6/10 kinda good but just another genetic teen with a power film like push or jumper
