the man from earth

an interesting concept (about a man who's been alive for 14000 years) that was rather poorly executed. also, some of the worst acting i've seen in years probably. still somewhat entertaining though. 6/10

insidious - lol/10

i guess tim and eric are making horror movies now? some of the most inept scares i've ever seen. scenes that were meant to be creepy were hilarious. there's a lynchian seance scene that happens maybe forty minutes in where a guy is frantically sketching a demon while a woman whispers to him that had me rolling. one of the best comedies of the decade.

yeh dude, I had a bunch of retards tell me it was kinda scary, my ex-gf likes scary movies, so I was hoping it would deliver and that I would get sex after words, it was really lame. I guess I should have just been laughing but I was mostly facepalming knowing It would not deliver post creepy sex.

I thought it was awesome in its horror movieness. I love Evil Dead. I am a fan of tiny tim being played while a creepy kid ghost runs around your house. Oh yes and Maynard James Keenan Red eyed Demons in the upper corners of your room are fucking freaky! I love this film, fuck you guys.

No way was Insidious intentionally tongue in cheek. It was taking itself all too seriously, that's what made it hysterical and ultimately shit.

The gas mask scene was full on retarded. WATMM level retarded.

the rum diary - 2/3 it's a good movie, then it falls flat for the remaining 1/3. no idea why depp got the lead role, he looks old and fat, and from what i understood it was meant to be about someone young taking chances. and it's 15 years too late for that. but all in all it rumbles along pretty nicely. way nicer than i expected.

paris, texas - i know this is a classic and it's got a stroszek-vibe going on in a way (which i adore), but in the end i think the whole story is a bit underwhelming. i liked it alright but eh, i hate it when i hype the movies up in my brain and they fail to deliver. #whitewhine

dogtooth - 7/10 really enjoyed how this unfolded with subtlety, gradually before things got twisted. uncomfortably convincing portrayal of a very strange family set-up.

All of these films are still just as good except for Alien 3. Panic Room is great.

Man, Eraserhead is out of this world. I had a terrible fever when I saw that film, I don't think it could have fit any better. One of the best films I've ever seen.

That you liked it originally and upon revisiting...both of those things surprise me. It's like...it's like I don't know you anymore.
