28 Weeks Later, second viewing. I hadn't seen this mess since it played in the theatres. what a clusterfuck. some cool ideas, but mostly piggybacking on the merits of the first. I loved the first one, this one doesn't deserve to be associated with it.

so much cheesy nonsensical bullshit thrown in like "we don't actually have a proper containment plan in the event of another outbreak, so let's just shoot erry nigga". really, Stringer? you didn't think this shit through? this ain't B'more, son. and the "hurrr imma decapitate all these zombees wit ma helicopturrr" part, ugh. a friend of a friend apparently worked on the CG for that.

in one part there's a really slow right-to-left screenwipe transition between two scenes and I'm watching this agape thinking "who the fuck even does this anymore?" it was so out of place in the midst of all the fast paced action.

the only two things you can take away from this movie are Rose Byrne, and do your cardio.

The opening scene is fantastic though. Fucking intense. The rest of film is pure trash.

Alien 3

Really hard to watch. Took me 2 tries until I could stand the very very bad acting in parts. It only got better in the end when all of them where dead. The dull smelting furnace setting didn't help it.

yeah that's the way I remember it. I get confused when people here praise it, I feel like they're just trying to be different by dissing either Alien 1 or 2. But then, I haven't seen the director's cut of 3, maybe it makes it that much better.

For me the Alien franchise is just 1 and 2 (and the theater version of 2, not dir cut).

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

Source Code - 6/10

It seemed like a lot of it was just thought up as it went along. Not a bad film though.

grown ups - sad part about sandler is that there's always this 15% part of him that seems to get how to make a decent movie. like, maybe not something that makes you die in awe, but just something worthwhile. and it always shines through. the remaining 85% is just one long juvenile poop joke. the saddest this was that buscemi is part of this. i love steve and seeing him nearly ruining himself in my eyes in 40 seconds, it was terrible. but i guess you have to make the ends meet somehow, even if you are steve buscemi.

  • come and see (2nd viewing) - well, maybe in the first time it didn't grabbed me because of the awful dvd rip i watched. this time however, i loved it, i whish there was a remastered bluray version of this 8,5/10

  • la valleé (Barbet Schroeder - 1972) - i was loving this but the 2nd cd is broken  i'm getting the dvd iso atm...

  • more (Barbet Schroeder - 1969) - facepalmed acting all over, pretty cool in a kind of a documentary perspective 5/10

  • a l'interieur - good horror graphic thriller mixed with a dumb script as usually 7,5/10

  • the savages - 6/10

  • the hills have eyes (1977) - terror lol 5/10

  • friends with kids - 4/10
  • lockout - lol i gotta admit in the first 5 minutes i thought i was gonna blindly enjoy it 2/10
  • cleanskin - lol recycled facepalmed bullshit 2/10
  • meeting evil - omg what's wrong with cinema today...
  • on the ice - everyone wants to make movies it's not fun anymore... pretentious assholes...

in the valley of elah - 6/10 - a very well acted anti-iraq war murder mystery, not bad but just too familiar and not too deep.

jackie brown - 8/10 - the dialogues and the characters are captivating (except for de niro maybe which seemed more like comic relief), i don't think any other director i know can match that strength of tarantino, but as a whole it just felt a bit too drawn out and maybe a bit too self indulgent.

Jiro Dreams of Sushi - 7/10

A documentary about the turtle from The Neverending Story who makes sushi and works hard. It was ok, but I was kinda hoping that there would be more to it.

AMELIE- great movie, i love the character.. my favorite romance, i'm not exactly a fan of the genre though... lovely, the ost is great too and i'd forgotten about it so time to redownload it..

Falling Down 6/10 - Watched again after somebody mentioned it here. I don't remember it having the cheesy bits in it when I last watched it, which must have been 10+- years ago. Great idea for a film. It looks older than 93 since Speed was 94.

it's really weird to watch 70s, 80s and early 90s films now. Especially car chases with those bad-handling old hunks of steel. Really starting to feel my age now.

I watched that Charlize Theron flick people here were recommending, "Young Adult". I quite liked it. I see why Theron can be cast as a villain now, her plastic surgery tightened her up a wee bit too much. Still waiting to see Promeetyus.

WTF. I caught thirty insufferable, Diablo Cody-infused moments of that piece of shit and I still haven't recovered.

Are you sure???

Just saw Zidane on the big screen. Cool movie, tho boring at times.

I admire the effort of an art film about a sports figure, especially one as iconic as Zidane.

I don't think it's a spoiler to say that all it is is Zidane playing one game of soccer in real time, shot from about 40 different angles... with Mogwai music, of course.

Really cool, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want more out of it.

7.5/10.

are you a cinefamily member? my wife seems to be in love with zidane and I like mogwai so this could be our new favorite joint movie

Jurassic Park

Somehow this 2+ hour movie felt short. or maybe it left me wanting more. the cgi was very good to say it was so early in the cgi world. yeah you can tell but you still see shit made today which is worst than this. i also forgot laura dern was this level of an actress as I now think of her in terms of her Lynch films.

Made me want to do a Jeff Goldblum season. Double feature: the fly and independance day! (or maybe jurrasic park and independance day). And then Annie Hall.

I gotta check imdb but I cannot think of many goldblum films. which is weird because he is brilliant

he would make a great woody allen stand in. did this ever happen and I missed it?

Alien 1 is great. Alien 2 is a mixed bag. You have great acting vs very bad acting. I had a really hard time fading out the bad actors.

Currently watching Alien 4. Its better than Alien 2 & 3 but I am only halfway in so this might still change. Some actors are still pretty bad but not as bad as in Alien 3. The cinematography is also much better as it dosen't look that dated.

Also lol at 3D animations in alien 4:

No. I'm not a member. I should be. I go there a lot.

Resurrection is barely better than your average Paul W.S. Anderson franchise abomination.

Probably would have been improved by throwing Milla Jovovich in there, actually.

girl, interrupted - how are these people suppose to be normal if they're taking them out for ice cream in the middle of winter? other than that, asylum seems like a blast. i'm checking in first thing in the morning.
