777 realization, I understand Autechre's trick now

On a similar note, I'm listening to Quaristice on good headphones and it's a totally different experience. I'd never noticed the quiet little extra melodies in paralel suns (especially towards the end)

i really dont get the point of that hour long perlence track on the quadrange ep, and i've thought about loading it in an editor, comparing various segments of it to see what minute differences there may be, and maybe eqing+compressing to see if there are more subtle things hidden in there, but i just dont care enough to actually do it

there are a few places where some very quiet things happen but it doesnt seem like much

Sometimes, an absolute repetitiveness is working great. It is hypnotizing, I quite enjoyed it.

I sometimes make loops that I then listen to for maybe 30 minutes and still am not getting bored of it. Some sounds, melodies, rhythms possess this power of being magnificent in loops over and over again.

Yeah, I like this in my own music as well. It doesn't appear in my own music very often, but I'll often slightly tweak a loop/pattern over the course of 30 mins–1 hour without getting bored. If only audiences had patience for those kinds of live sets!

lp5 in the car is fuckin perfect. 777 was always pretty direct for me. the whole album is just candy.

Sometimes it's not about what you want to show, but what you do not want to show.

As long as the music's feelings aren't hurt, then everything's ok.

I don't want 777 crying on my shoulder because somebody listened to her with the bass tuned way down. All this drama is stressing her out big time.
