received the news at 6.32pm, sold out when I checked it was already sold out.... burial and four tet are so gay anyways.... : )

I bought the Burial Untrue LP and returned it about 2 months later... he makes a few decent tracks, but its really just not my kind of music. Four Tet's EP though I thought was actually pretty good... had some roots with minimal techno, but its got some great layering that makes it feel at times psychedelic. I'll check this out... but I don't see myself rushing to find a copy of the 12"...

yeah Four Tet's Ringer EP was pretty great, I just hope he doesn't join in with burial and get a super hard-on for lots of reverb, would be lame.

Yeah this sounds more like a collab then two separate tracks... I can distinctively hear some of four tet's shit in the first track which clearly also has Burial with the beats.

both are pretty minimal, the 2nd one almost sounds ok, but it even has some of the "fruity vocals" bits hinted in there. I think maybe if they did a whole LP and really developed their style there could be a few good tracks but so far it's not that great.

Yeah... it sounded pretty boring honestly. Burial in general just seems pretty boring.

Also Burial is not crap, yes Untrue wasn't the masterpiece everyone wanted but was still pretty good in my books. Try the first album that is definitely better though.

I think they're very much linked.

I read that kind of comment quite a bit on forums. But it doesn't make much sense to me. I mean, I get great feelings listening to Mozart. Would I still get those feelings if he was a bit shitter at structuring and orchestration and so on? No. It'd ruin it...

I mean, why bother producing things properly, varying your beats, making things have a bit of technical magic? Because these things all contribute to feel.

And Burial is just plain overhyped and boring.

how overhyped an artist is shouldn't affect your appreciation of their music at all. I don't find burial boring. the mood and atmosphere keep things interesting.
